Patent number: 4524914Abstract: A pintle on the tip of the nozzle needle, which is disposed to be fitted through the nozzle hole of the nozzle body opening in a combustion chamber of an engine, has a conical portion. The conical portion extends along substantially the whole length of the nozzle hole when the nozzle needle has its seating portion seated on a valve seating portion of the nozzle body, and has a depth gradually decreasing toward the combustion chamber to define between itself and the nozzle needle an annular gap gradually expanding toward the combustion chamber. A portion of the pintle, which is substantially on a level with an end of the nozzle hole remote from the combustion chamber when the seating portion of the nozzle needle is in its seated position, has a diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of the above end of the nozzle hole.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1983Date of Patent: June 25, 1985Assignee: Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhiro Kaibara, Toshio Ida, Shinji Okuda, Takayuki Motohashi

Patent number: 4397284Abstract: A distribution type fuel injection pump for use in a fuel injection combustion engine comprising a plunger capable of moving reciprocally along its axis and simultaneously rotating about its axis and a couple of members forming a cam mechanism having a first cam member and a second cam member. The first cam member is mounted on the plunger and the second cam member is mounted on a housing rotatably about its axis. The couple of cam members cause the plunger to reciprocally move while the plunger is rotating. The angular position of the second cam member about its axis can be controlled by a fuel injection timing control means in accordance with the engine speed. The second cam member can also turn about its axis so as to be adjusted in its angular position by a fuel injection timing adjustment when a selected operating condition of the engine, for example the engine start, is carried out.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1981Date of Patent: August 9, 1983Assignee: Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhiro Kaibara, Masayoshi Kobayashi

Patent number: 4346688Abstract: In a fuel injection pump for use in an internal combustion engine, an injection timing control system actuatable in response to a pressure varying in dependence on engine r.p.m., which is designed to convert acceleration of a fuel injection quantity setting movable operating member into an electrical signal to obtain a control signal based upon said electrical signal for driving a magnet valve for controlling said pressure, thereby varying the injection timing by a proper amount in immediate response to an engine accelerating operation.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1979Date of Patent: August 31, 1982Assignee: Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhiro Kaibara, Kazuyoshi Takaichi

Patent number: 4169444Abstract: A fuel supply pump supplies fuel from a fuel reservoir to a fuel injection pump which comprises a piston for injecting fuel from a fuel injection nozzle into an internal combustion engine. The piston is reciprocated for fuel injection by an engine driven rotary cam. The fuel injection pump further comprises a fuel control sleeve which is positioned by flyweights to control the fuel injection volume in accordance with the engine speed. A modulator valve is actuated by the flyweights to control the supply pump pressure in accordance with engine speed. A fuel injection timing means is responsive to the modulated supply pump pressure to control the angular relationship between the engine crankshaft and the rotary cam and thereby the fuel injection timing in accordance with the modulated pressure.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1977Date of Patent: October 2, 1979Assignee: Diesel Kiki Company, Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhiro Kaibara, Yasutaka Yuzawa, Masayoshi Kobayashi

Patent number: 4069800Abstract: A servo piston is driven to compress fuel in a pressure chamber which communicates with a needle valve which is spring biased to block communication between the pressure chamber and a fuel injection nozzle. When the fuel pressure exceeds a value equivalent to the preload of the spring, the pressurized fuel moves the needle valve off its seat so that fuel from the pressure chamber is injected into an engine through the injection nozzle. Further movement of the servo piston unblocks a port to allow fuel at supply pressure to act on the needle valve in the same direction as the spring to sharply seat the needle valve and cleanly terminate fuel injection. Further movement of the servo piston uncovers another port so that the pressure chamber is depressurized through connection with the supply and the needle valve is firmly held on its seat.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1976Date of Patent: January 24, 1978Assignee: Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Fumio Kanda, Nobuhiro Kaibara, Seibi Ohki, Kazuo Okamoto, Akira Suzuki

Patent number: 3970065Abstract: A control system for a fuel injection pump assembly wherein the regulation of the fuel quantity is influenced by a control rod. This control rod is displaced by a cam follower assembly and the cam itself is a three-dimensional cam whose spatial orientation may be changed, firstly, by rotation about its axis where the magnitude of this rotation depends on the amount of air aspirated by the engine and, secondly, by longitudinal motion along its axis, where the magnitude of this motion depends on the rotational speed of the engine.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1974Date of Patent: July 20, 1976Assignee: Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhiro Kaibara, Kazuro Nishizawa
