Abstract: A recording device for recording an image on a recording medium, the recording device comprising: a recording head having a liquid drop discharging surface for discharging liquid drops toward a recording medium; a liquid receptacle disposed at a position opposing a liquid drop discharging surface of the recording head, and able to accommodate the liquid drops; and a conveying device for conveying the recording medium between the recording head and the liquid receptacle, by a non-electrostatic attraction method.

Abstract: An intermediate transfer body to be used in an image forming apparatus for transferring and fixing a toner image from a photosensitive body onto a recording medium using an intermediate transfer body having the surface of a material such as silicone rubber which image forming apparatus reduces the friction coefficient between the photosensitive body and the intermediate transfer body to allow easy driving running control of the intermediate transfer body, and reduces the fog toner transfer rate to prevent deterioration of the image quality when the medium (40 to 70%) gloss is employed, and an image forming apparatus using the intermediate transfer body are provided. The intermediate transfer body, which receives a toner image held on a toner image carrier and transfers again the toner image onto a recording medium to form an image on the recording medium, has the surface for receiving the transfer of a toner image on which the peak area and roughed recess area are formed mixedly.

Abstract: An intermediate transfer medium and the like for image formation includes transferring and fixing a toner image from a photoreceptor onto a recording medium such as paper by using the intermediate transfer medium. Abstract: An image forming apparatus for reproducing an image corresponding to a digitized image signal includes; an imaging member; a halftone image forming device for reproducing a latent image composed of a plurality of pixels on the imaging member, and for developing the latent image so that coloring particles are adhered in each pixel being put together as an island, the halftone image including a relatively low density halftone image; and a transfixing device for simultaneously transferring the halftone image and fixing the halftone image onto a recording sheet. The image forming apparatus may further includes an intermediate transfer medium. The island-like toner image reproduces the halftone image clearly.

Abstract: An image forming method is provided which is structured in such a way that a toner image carried to a transferring position by a toner image holding member for holding and carrying the toner image from a toner image forming position to the toner image transferring position is transferred to a predetermined recording medium. The image forming method includes carrying a toner image into close contact with a recording medium and transferring and fixing the toner image while heating the toner image. A recording medium is employed which has a thermoplastic transparent resin layer on at least a surface of a base thereof on which the toner image is transferred and the softening point (Tmp) of the transparent resin is in the range from 1.degree. C. to 30.degree. C. lower than the softening point (Tmt) of the toner.
