  • Patent number: 5477265
Abstract: A control device includes a control mechanism for eliminating a dark current effect generated in a CCD. The control mechanism carries out a charge pumping operation in the CCD during a time after an object is photographed up until the time when an aperture is closed. The control mechanism obtains a dark current component generated when the aperture is closed after a photographing operation, based on a dark current component outputted by the CCD during a predetermined period, and then subtracts the dark current component from data outputted by the CCD in accordance with an image signal corresponding to the subject.

  • Patent number: 5418564
Abstract: A dual type imaging device includes a first CCD and a second CCD, on which complementary color filters with a checkerboard (or matrix) arrangement is disposed. The complementary color filters have the same construction as each other, having magenta elements, yellow elements, cyan elements and green elements arranged in a regular manner. The arrangement of the color elements of the filter of the first CCD is offset, by a width of one light-sensitive element, to the arrangement of the color elements of the filter of the second CCD. An R-signal, a G-signal and a B-signal are sensed in accordance with four light-sensitive elements which are arranged in a 2.times.2 matrix.

  • Patent number: 5379069
Abstract: A moving picture monitoring device includes a first CCD on which an infrared-cut-filter is provided, and a second CCD on which an infrared-cut-filter and a complementary colors filter are provided. The complementary colors filter has magenta filter elements, green filter elements, yellow filter elements and cyan filter elements, which are disposed in a predetermined arrangement. In a monitor-through mode, only the second CCD is operated. A digital signal processing circuit generates differential color signals (R-YL, B-YL) and a luminance signal (YL). These signals (R-YL, B-YL, YL) are outputted to a display device, so that a color moving picture is indicated thereon.

  • Patent number: 5339162
Abstract: An image pick-up device driving apparatus including an image pick-up device having a light receiver which converts an image of an object to be taken to electrical signal charges to be accumulated, and a signal transfer device which transfers the accumulated signal charges, and a controller for controlling the image pick-up device to prevent unnecessary electrical charges accumulated by the light receiver from leaking into the signal transfer device before the electrical charges accumulated in the light receiver and transferred to the signal transfer device are read.

  • Patent number: 5282041
Abstract: An apparatus for driving an image pick-up device having a pulse signal output device which outputs transfer pulses for transferring signal charges accumulated in the light receiving portion of the image pick-up device to vertical transfer portions. The apparatus includes read pulses for reading the signal charges transferred to the vertical transfer portions, sweep pulses for sweeping the signal charges transferred to the vertical transfer portions, and a controller for controlling these pulses. The controller controls the time at which the pulses are outputted. A device may be provided for selectively switching between first and second transfer pulses to be input to the image pick-up device. The first transfer pulses come from the pulse signal output device and the second transfer pulses come from the controller.

  • Patent number: 5216511
Abstract: A control device includes a control mechanism for eliminating an effect of dark current generated in a CCD which may be, for example, provided in a still video system operated in a frame mode. The control mechanism controls the imaging device in such a manner that, after an aperture is closed, the imaging device outputs an image signal from a first field and an image signal from a second field, and then outputs data from a third field corresponding to a dark current component. The control mechanism thereafter subtracts the data of the third field from the image signal of the second field. The data obtained by this subtraction is outputted together with the image signal of the first field, as a one frame image signal.

  • Patent number: 5187569
Abstract: A solid state imaging device includes photosensitive portions which accumulate electrical charges corresponding to the quantity of light received thereby. Also included are vertical transfer portions which accumulate electrical charges corresponding to the quantity of light received thereby and which transfer the electrical charges accumulated by the photosensitive portions. Color filters are alternately arranged in a predetermined order on the photosensitive portions or the vertical transfer portions to permit the associated colors to pass therethrough. The invention is also directed to an electronic still camera having such a solid state imaging device, a signal memory for memorizing the signal data generated by the vertical transfer portions, and a picture signal generator for synchronizing the signal data memorized by the memory and the corresponding signal data read by the photosensitive portions to form a picture signals.
