  • Patent number: 6810487
Abstract: In a CORBA partial restart system in a built-in device, a sole restart of a CORBA library, a server and a client can be carried out without restarting the whole built-in device. The client gives a notification that an accident or a defective condition arises in the CORBA library and the client itself to a control section. The server gives a notification that the defective condition arises in the CORBA library and the server itself to the control section. When receiving the notification of the defective condition, the control section stops processes of the client, the server and the CORBA library. The control section releases their memory areas when the memory areas are not released after stopping their processes. Then, the control section restarts the processes of the client, the server and the CORBA library. Constructors of the client and the server reserve the memory areas for their own uses. A memory controller produces memory information of the reserved memory areas.

  • Publication number: 20030084166
Abstract: A server computer conducts a method making it possible to close half-open connections in a server object when half-open connection frequently occurs and new connections cannot be formed. In the computer, a communication controller means controls communication between a client and a server object that provides a service to the client, by establishing and releasing a connection between the client and the object. A monitor means monitors a count of the connections between the client and the object. A destruction/generation controller means destroys the object or generating a new server object under the control of the monitor. When the monitor means detects an event that the connection count of the connections between the client and the object reaches a maximum connection number, the monitor instructs the destruction/generation controller means to destroy the object. Immediately after the object is destroyed, the monitor instructs the destruction/generation controller means to generate a new server object.

  • Publication number: 20020099708
Abstract: A distributed object system includes a plurality of networks having different communication formats and connecting a plurality of client computers and a plurality of server computers. Each client computer has a plurality of network interfaces operating with the different communication formats and a network control unit which specifies one of the networks based on the data for a plurality of server computers and the network interfaces. The client which is generally implemented by a software need not have a function for selecting the networks and thus can be manufactured at a lower cost.
