Patent number: 9711873Abstract: A crimp terminal has a crimp barrel which is crimped onto a core wire of a cable. The crimp barrel has an inner surface in which a plurality of cavities which are independent from one another is formed. Each of the cavities has a predetermined shape in a plane orthogonal to a depth direction thereof before the crimp barrel is crimped onto a core wire. The predetermined shape has at least two straight portions and a concave curved portion connecting the straight portions. The concave curved portion is indented inward of the predetermined shape. A plurality of the concave curved portions which are close to each other and included respectively in the predetermined shapes distinct from each other is arranged on an identical imaginary circle or rounded rectangular.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2016Date of Patent: July 18, 2017Assignee: JAPAN AVIATION ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY, LIMITEDInventors: Daisuke Tanaka, Takashi Ookawa, Kiyohito Koide, Hiroshi Akimoto, Takaichi Teramoto, Kazuomi Sato, Hiroki Yokohama, Nobuhisa Todo

Patent number: 9196972Abstract: A crimp terminal includes a crimp barrel to be crimped around a conductive core of a cable. The crimp barrel includes an inner surface which is formed with a plurality of cavities independent of one another. Each of the cavities has a predetermined shape in a plane perpendicular to a depth direction of the cavity. The predetermined shape contains a plurality of straight-line segments. Every one of the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape is not parallel with remaining ones of the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape. The straight-line segments of the predetermined shape includes at least one pair of the straight-line segments, which are closest to each other among the straight-line segments of the predetermined shape and are arranged to make an interior angle less than 90 degrees or, if not intersecting each other, are arranged on two straight lines, respectively, wherein the two straight lines make an interior angle less than 90 degrees.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2014Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: JAPAN AVIATION ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY, LIMITEDInventors: Nobuhisa Todo, Takaichi Teramoto, Hiroki Yokohama, Kazuomi Sato, Hiroshi Akimoto, Kiyohito Koide, Takashi Ookawa, Akira Ohno

Patent number: 8764496Abstract: Provided is a technique for improving connection reliability. A contact part that contacts with a detecting male contact is formed in a detecting collision spring piece. The detecting male contact includes a contact surface that contacts with the contact part. The detecting collision spring piece is elastically deformed in advance so that a gap is formed between the contact part and the contact surface when the contact part is opposed to the contact surface in a height direction. When an elastic deformation force that elastically deforms the detecting collision spring piece is released, the contact part contacts with the contact surface with collision against the contact surface due to a spring restoring force of the detecting collision spring piece. A locus of the contact part just before the contact part collides with the contact surface is oblique with respect to the contact surface when seen from a mate direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2012Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd.Inventors: Nobuhisa Todo, Yuji Hamaoka, Akira Ohno

Patent number: 8113871Abstract: A connector assembly has a first connector, a second connector matable with the first connector along a mating direction, a mating assistance mechanism, a mating maintenance mechanism, and a detection mechanism. The mating maintenance mechanism includes a stopper, an engagement portion and an elastic support. The engagement portion is configured to be engaged with the stopper in a mating state of the first connector and the second connector so as to maintain the mating state. The detection mechanism is operable to detect the mating state and includes a short-circuit member and first and second terminals having first and second contacting sections, respectively, extending along the mating direction. The short-circuit member is arranged to establish a short circuit between the first terminal and the second terminal in the mating state.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2010Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, LimitedInventors: Nobuhisa Todo, Akira Ohno, Yuji Hamaoka, Yoshiharu Yamamoto

Publication number: 20110021058Abstract: A connector assembly has a first connector, a second connector matable with the first connector along a mating direction, a mating assistance mechanism, a mating maintenance mechanism, and a detection mechanism. The mating assistance mechanism has an operation member and is operable to mate the second connector with the first connector in accordance with an operation of the operation member. The mating maintenance mechanism includes a stopper, an engagement portion and an elastic support. The engagement portion is configured to be engaged with the stopper in a mating state of the first connector and the second connector so as to maintain the mating state. The elastic support is configured to support the engagement portion. The elastic support is elastically deformed and moves the engagement portion along a direction different from the mating direction when the second connector is mated with the first connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2010Publication date: January 27, 2011Applicant: Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, LimitedInventors: Nobuhisa Todo, Akira Ohno, Yuji Hamaoka, Yoshiharu Yamamoto

Patent number: 6461203Abstract: In a temporary locking state, there is a little clearance C between an end wall of a contact hole provided at an insulator and an end surface of a contact. When a double locking member is pushed down from a temporary locking position to a regular locking position, an engaging portion of the double locking member pushes an inclined plane of a second stabilizer of the contact. Therefore, the contact moves to the forward direction. When the end surface of the contact is brought into contact with the end wall of the contact accommodating chamber, the contact stops. Then, the clearance C becomes naught. Since the contact of the connector cannot move to the insulator, contacts of the connector and a mating connector can stably comes into contact with each other.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2001Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, LimitedInventor: Nobuhisa Todo
