  • Patent number: 7285936
Abstract: An object is to provide a charging system in which a battery can be charged in a fully charged state or close to the fully charged state while preventing performance deterioration of a battery due to heat generated during charge. A charging system 1 for a battery-set of the invention includes a temperature detecting device 15, a charging device 12 and a control device 13 for controlling the charging device 12 based on a battery temperature. The control device 13 carries out a temperature feedback charge with “a quantity function of a temperature” (?T/?t) as a target value (Y). With the system, it is possible to charge the battery in the fully charged state or close to the fully charged state while preventing the performance deterioration of the battery due to the heat generated during the charge.

  • Patent number: 6741065
Abstract: An electric device comprises a plurality of detachable battery units (2, 3, 4), each consisting of a set of storage battery packs (2B, 3B, 4B) and memories (11, 12, 13) storing information about the charge and discharge states of the battery packs. Connectors are provided to connect and disconnect an electric device (1) electrically incident to each battery unit being attached or detached. The device includes a driver (9) for driving a load, a charger (5) for charging the storage battery packs (2B, 3B, 4B) by referring to the information stored in the memories (11, 12, 13) of the respective mounted battery units (2, 3, 4), and a controller (6) for controlling the electric power supplied from the individual battery units (2, 3, 4) to the driver (9) by referring to the above-mentioned information.

  • Patent number: 6295487
Abstract: A hybrid vehicle (1) including an internal combustion engine and electric motors and selectively uses them as a running drive source according to a running state. When one of wheels (5) driven by an engine (7) skids to rotate excessively, a motor (13) connected to that wheel is caused to make a regenerative operation to remedy the skid of the wheel, and running traction made insufficient due to the skid is compensated by driving another wheel (4) by a motor (12) of another wheel by using electric energy recovered by the regenerative operation.

  • Patent number: 6265853
Abstract: A power source unit for use in vehicle is disclosed that effectively transfers energy between two power sources. The power source unit includes a main power source connected to input terminals of a current control circuit, such as insulation type power transfer circuit. In addition, a terminal of the main power source is connected to an output terminal of the current control circuit. The other terminal of the main power source is connected to a terminal of a parallel connection of a secondary power source and an electric power unit. The other terminal of the parallel connection is connected with a second output terminal of the current control circuit. Hence, energy from the main power source is transferred to the parallel connection of the secondary power source and electric power unit under the control of the current control circuit.
