  • Patent number: 6529461
Abstract: A disk apparatus which can prevent a disk from being damaged when a shock is applied to the disk apparatus is provided. A disk is rotatably supported in a space formed between a tray and a cover when the disk is loaded in the disk apparatus. A contacting member is provided in the space so that the contacting member contacts an outermost annular area of a surface of the disk when the disk is warped. The outermost annular area is a non-recordable area which is adjacent to a rim of the disk.

  • Publication number: 20020160240
Abstract: When humidifying, almost to water vapor saturation, reformed gas that is supplied to a hydrogen electrode of a solid polymer type fuel cell (1) and air that is supplied to an oxygen electrode of the fuel cell (1), heating for obtaining water vapor to establish such saturation is not required. For the purpose of improving the thermal efficiency of a fuel cell system, water vapor contained in hydrogen electrode exhaust gas exhausted from the hydrogen electrode of the fuel cell (1) is let to penetrate through a water vapor permeable membrane (34), whereas water vapor contained either in air that is introduced into a partial oxidation reformation section (6) or in oxygen electrode exhaust gas exhausted from the oxygen electrode is let to penetrate through the water vapor permeable membrane (34) so that the water vapor is supplied to air that is supplied to the oxygen electrode of the fuel cell (1).

  • Patent number: 5978166
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning at least one magnetic head relative to a magnetic tape for recording and reproducing information includes a head unit for holding at least one magnetic head and a moving unit for moving the head unit parallel to a surface of the magnetic tape in a direction along the width of the magnetic tape so that the head unit is kept at a constant angle relative to the surface of the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 5963528
Abstract: In a disc apparatus, an insertion or removal operation of a disc can be performed without drawing the entire tray from the disc apparatus. A tray is movable between a disc loading position and a disc exchanging position. The tray is located in the disc apparatus so that a disc placed on the tray is loaded to the disc apparatus when the tray is at the disc loading position. A portion of the tray is drawn from the disc apparatus so that the disc can be placed on or removed from the tray when the tray is at the disc exchanging position. A cover is provided above the tray so as to enclose the tray when the tray is at the first position. A cover opening mechanism opens the cover by being linked with a movement of the tray in a direction from the disc loading position to the disc exchanging position.

  • Patent number: 5448432
Abstract: A magnetic writing/reading apparatus is provided with a holder which holds a cassette containing a magnetic tape, the cassette being inserted into the holder. A locking mechanism locks the cassette at a predetermined position in the holder when the cassette is to be loaded in the magnetic writing/reading apparatus, the locking mechanism being released when the cassette is to be ejected from the magnetic writing/reading apparatus. Also provided with is a carrying mechanism for carrying the holder holding the cassette so that the cassette is loaded in the magnetic writing/reading apparatus, the carrying mechanism which carries the holder holding the cassette causing the holder to be returned to a position at which the cassette has been initially inserted into the holder.
