The positive electrode has: a first current collector; and a positive electrode active material layer provided on a one surface of the first current collector. The negative electrode has: a second current collector; and a negative electrode active material layer provided on a one surface of the second current collector. The separator has a base material layer, a first adhesive layer, and a second adhesive layer. The one surface of the first current collector is adhered to the first adhesive layer in an edge portion of the separator. The spacer is adhered to the second adhesive layer in the edge portion of the separator.

    Abstract: In a case where high-rate deterioration of a secondary battery progresses before execution of external charging by a charging device, an electronic control unit (ECU) executes an SOC adjustment process of adjusting an SOC of the secondary battery such that the SOC falls within a predetermined range. The predetermined range is a range where an expansion-contraction change of a negative electrode of the secondary battery along with charge and discharge of the secondary battery is small as compared with a case where the SOC is out of the predetermined range. After the execution of the SOC adjustment process, the ECU executes a process of moderating the high-rate deterioration so as to moderate the high-rate deterioration, and then executes the external charging.
