  • Publication number: 20050034081
Abstract: Electronic equipment includes display having menu windows, and a trackball device as an input operation unit. On a menu window, icons are arranged in a circle, and at the center of the circle, a center icon is located. In input operation, the user manipulates the exposed portion of a ball of a trackball device. Circumferential rotation of the ball on a rotation axis (where, the rotation axis is the line connecting the rotation center of ball and the top point of the exposed portion of ball) enables the cursor to go around icons, and the user can select a desired icon among the icons. On the other hand, the user can move the cursor from any one of the icons to the center icon through radial rotation of the ball in a direction tangential to the rotation axis.
