  • Patent number: 7303274
Abstract: A method of forming a thin film by an ink jet method including the step of discharging a liquid containing thin film-forming materials and a solvent from liquid discharge ports to each position on a substrate while the liquid discharge ports are being moved relatively to the substrate, characterized in that subsequent droplets are arranged while a solvent vapor evaporating from droplets arranged previously on the substrate are compulsively removed from inside the substrate surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 2006
Date of Patent: December 4, 2007
    Assignee: Seiko Epson Corporation
Inventors: Nobuko Okada, Shunichi Seki, Katsuyuki Morii

  • Patent number: 6893103
Abstract: An ink jet printing device and a manufacturing method of a functional liquid applied substrate, which can equalize the discharge amount of the functional liquid with simple operations and structures. An ink jet printing device (100) comprises a plurality of nozzles (111) for discharging the functional liquid and the plurality of nozzles are divided into a plurality of groups, the number of the groups being less than the number of the nozzles, and the discharge amount of the functional liquid discharged from the nozzles is controlled in every group. A manner of grouping of the nozzles is performed such that a part of an ink jet head (1a), onto which the nozzles are located, is divided into a plurality of areas and those nozzles belonging to each area belong to one group.
