Abstract: The selective growth of rice in paddies is promoted by applying thereto a composition comprising(a) a thiolcarbamate of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is halogen or a lower alkoxy or lower alkyl radical,Y is a dialkylamino, hexamethylenimino or 2-methylpiperidino radical, andN is 1 or 2, (if n is 2 the X radicals may be identical or different)(b) a phenylurea of the formula ##STR2## wherein ONE OF R' and R.sup.2 is difluorochloromethylmercapto and the other is difluorochloromethylmercapto, chloro or hydrogen, and(c) O,O-diethyl-S-(2-ethylmercaptoethyl)-thionothiolphosphate.

Abstract: 4-CHLOROBENZYL-N,N-hexamethylenethiolcarbamate has been found to be uniquely active and selective in the control of weeds, particularly in crop cultivations such as rice paddies.

Abstract: Amidothionophosphonic acid ester compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which R is alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or lower cycloalkyl;Y is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl or alkoxy of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; andZ is nitro or cyano;Are outstandingly effective as herbicides and exhibit particularly selective action.

Abstract: Certain new cyclohexyl carbamates of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein X is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy,R is hydrogen or methyl, andn is 1, 2, or 3,Are outstandingly effective herbicides and acaricides and have found particular applicability in selectively combating weeds growing in paddy fields.

Abstract: Alkoxy-substituted benzyl dithiocarbamic acid esters, i.e. [(optionally mono- and di- alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, chloro and bromo substituted)-(alkoxy substituted)-benzyl]-dithiocarbamates, which possess herbicidal properties and which may be produced by conventional methods.

Abstract: Phosphoro-amido-thioates, i.e. O-alkyl-O-[2-nitro-4-(alkyl, alkoxy and chloro)-phenyl]-N-alkyl-phosphoro-amido-thioates and O-alkyl-O-[2-nitro-4-(optionally alkyl, alkoxy and chloro)-phenyl]-N-cycloalkyl-phosphoro-amido-thioates, or O-alkyl-O-[2-nitro-4-(alkyl, alkoxy and chloro)-phenyl]-N-alkyl-amido-thionophosphates and O-alkyl-O-[2-nitro-4-(optionally alkyl, alkoxy and chloro)-phenyl]-N-cycloalkyl-amido-thionophosphates, which possess herbicidal properties and which may be produced by conventional methods.
