  • Patent number: 7929826
Abstract: In the case of recording information in a DVD-R 1R as complying with a DVD video standard, which is configured with including at least of a VTS including a VOBS to be reproduced and VTSI and VMGI for controlling the reproduction of one or plural VTSs, the VTS is recorded in the DVD-R 1R. After the VTS is recorded, the tentative VMGI as the tentative control information corresponding to the recorded VTS to form the VMGI after that and to record this VMGI in the DVD-R 1R. Then, the generated tentative VMGI is recorded in the DVD-R 1R every when the VTS is recorded in the DVD-R 1R.

  • Publication number: 20100208576
Abstract: In a first recording process, an end position of a kth cell (62) is aligned with an end position (P6) of a first layer recording area (43) by adjusting a recording start position (P5) of contents data (61) in an unused area (R1) in the first layer recording area (43). In a second recording process, an mth cell over the layers is divided into two cells, and the cells are recorded in an end area of the first layer recording area (43) and the head area of the second layer recording area (46), respectively.

  • Publication number: 20090060459
Abstract: When VOB recording has reached the vicinity of the end position P6 of a first layer recording area (43), a cell close instruction is issued to stop encode processing for forming the next VOB to be stored. At this moment, for forming the next VOB to be recorded, content data stored in a buffer memory (18A) is used to form a VOB having, for example, a shorter length than a normal VOB. The VOB is recorded in the end position of the first layer recording area. After this, a dummy cell, having dummy data is recorded in an unrecorded area (122) of the end portion of the first recording area.

  • Patent number: 7440678
Abstract: The information recording apparatus records unit information which includes recording information including, for example, video and audio data and reproduction control information for the reproduction on a rewritable-type recording medium. After information is recorded, temporary management information for all the unit recording information recorded on the recording medium is produced and is recorded on the recording medium. By producing temporary management information and recording it on the recording medium every time new unit recording information is recorded on the recording medium, it becomes possible to reproduce the respective unit recording information from the recording medium by referring to the temporary management information.

  • Publication number: 20050069284
Abstract: An apparatus for recording/reproducing information includes an externally-inputted information recording device and a reproducing device. An information amount checking device checks an amount of information of record information and/or information as recorded, when recording one of them on a recording medium. A recording capacity checking device checks a recording capacity of the recording medium on which the information is to be recorded. A judging device judges based on the checked information amount and recording capacity, as whether or not the whole of the information can be recorded on the recording medium. A dividing device divides the information into partial record informations each having an amount of information is equal to or smaller than the recording capacity. A partial information recording device repeats record of the partial record informations on the recording medium to record them thereon.

  • Publication number: 20020025140
Abstract: The present invention is provided with: an encoder for encoding information with a fixed encoding rate; a system controller for converting the encoded information into format information based on the above recording format; and a pickup for recording the converted format information in a DVD-R. A VOBU is formed so that required time for reproduction of the VOBU in the recording format is a fixed time in association with the encoding rate thereof, the VOB is formed with the number of the VOBU included in the VOB defined as a constant number in the above recording format, address information for indicating a recording position on the DVD-R 1R of the VOBU, in which the required time for reproduction is defined as a fixed time, is generated and the above format information is generated by making the generated address information contained in the VOBU.

  • Patent number: 5497243
Abstract: A video disk recorder for executing a real-time edition records desired scenes to a disk while allowing an operator to observe a relay video image that is currently in progress. In response to the generation of a recording command signal, a recording head is set to a recording mode and a disk address of the recording head at that time is stored as a determinate disk address. In response to the generation of a stop command signal, the recording mode is canceled and a disk address of the recording head at that time is stored as a temporary disk address. In the case where a skip command signal is generated during the recording mode, the recording head is moved to the determinate disk address stored at the time of the start of the recording mode. In the case where the skip command signal is generated in a mode other than the recording mode, the recording head is moved to the temporary disk address.
