A blood pressure measurement device includes a communication unit, a processor, a pressure sensor, and an adjustment mechanism that adjusts the pressure of a cuff. The processor performs measurement processing including main processing of acquiring an output of the pressure sensor while changing the pressure of the cuff by controlling the adjustment mechanism, and deriving blood pressure information based on the output, and post-processing of decreasing the pressure of the cuff to a threshold or less by controlling the adjustment mechanism, performs transmission processing of establishing a connection of near-field wireless communication with a smartphone, and transmitting information obtained in the main processing from the communication unit to the smartphone.
