  • Patent number: 7767297
Abstract: A fiber containing an eggshell membrane component. The fiber is produced by spinning using a solution containing the eggshell membrane component by employing an electrospinning method. A fiber assembly formed from the fiber obtained by employing the electrospinning method imitates a natural eggshell membrane, whereby sufficient air permeability is exhibited. Since the fiber assembly is also excellent in adherence to skin tissue of a human body and stypticity, the fiber assembly may be preferably used as a wound dressing or a cosmetic sheet.

Date of Patent: August 3, 2010
    Assignee: Idemitsu Technofine Co., Ltd.

  • Publication number: 20080138385
Abstract: An antibacterial composition containing an organic antibacterial agent and an inorganic antibacterial agent is provided. Zirconium phosphate having supported thereon silver or copper or a salt thereof may be used as the inorganic antibacterial agent, and 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide sodium, carbendazim (methyl 1H-2-benzimidazole carbamate), or thiabendazole (2-(4-thiazolyl)-1H-benzimidazole) may be used as the organic antibacterial agent. Those components contain no halogen, so the antibacterial composition can be made halogen-free. The antibacterial composition may be applied to form an antibacterial molding, for example, by molding it together with a resin material or applying it together with a coating agent on a resin molding.

  • Patent number: 5718954
Abstract: Materials containing fine natural organic material particles are disclosed. As the fine particles, superfine silk fibroin particles are produced by a process comprising a first step of comminuting silk fibroin into coarse particles with dry mechanical comminuting means, a second step of comminuting the coarse silk fibroin particles into fine particles with dry mechanical comminuting means, and a third step of comminuting the fine silk fibroin particles into superfine particles with an average particle diameter of 10 .mu.m or below with dry mechanical comminuting means, the silk fibroin particles being beta-treated during or after at least one of the first to third comminuting steps. Specific examples of the material are films, sheets, paints, fiber treating materials, etc.

  • Patent number: 5534327
Abstract: A powdered leather which is composed of at least 85% by weight of cortex, at most 2% by weight of oil and fat, and at most 0.5% by weight of Na.sup.+ and Ca.sup.2+ ions capable of being eluted by water and which has an average particle size (D.sub.50) of at most 7 .mu.m, a standard deviation of the average particle size being at most 3 .mu.m. With this powdered leather, it is possible to thin films, coatings, fibers, etc. which would hardly be deteriorated with time.

  • Patent number: 5134031
Abstract: A highly moisture-absorptive fiber obtained by mixing and kneading one or more kinds of animal protein fibers, general protein forming the animal skin, bones, and others, pulverized to very fine powder of the 0.05 to 15 .mu.m size with a polymer of synthetic fiber, semi-synthetic fiber or regenerated fiber or polymer of chemical fiber material consisting of a mixture of more than two kinds of these polymers and spinning the kneaded composition, which can give a fine fiber having flexibility and proper elongation.
