  • Patent number: 5879576
Abstract: Method and apparatus for processing substrates through a number of wet treatments. A substrate is set on a substrate rotating means for rotation in a horizontal face-up position, within a housing which is open on its top side. By a treating liquid feed means having a treating liquid feed nozzle member, at least one kind of treating liquid is supplied onto upper surfaces of the substrate being rotated by the substrate rotating means. The treating liquid feed nozzle member is supported on a movable arm for displacement to and from an operative position vertically confronting the substrate and a receded standby position away from the substrate on the substrate rotating means. Located face to face with lower surfaces of the substrate is a nozzle means which supplies a fluid to the lower side of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5505260
Abstract: The present invention provides a single trip system for placing perforating apparatus and sand control equipment in a wellbore. This system includes a casing string equipped with extendible pistons and a pumpable activator plug for extending the pistons. Additionally, this system utilizes a single gravel-pack and completion tool string. Further, this system includes a means for opening the extendible pistons to fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 5404954
Abstract: The present invention provides a well filter assembly for incorporation in a production system which will initially allow passage of particles which will only minimally damage the interior of the production system. After a period of time, the filter assembly will preclude passage of all damaging particles while allowing passage of those particles which will not deteriorate or obstruct the production system. Additionally, the well screen assembly is designed to mechanically break down the filter cake which was formed during drilling of the well in order to preclude plugging of the filter. Further, the filter of the prepacked well screen assembly is of sufficient strength so as to maintain its filtering capacity even after damage due to deformation. Finally, a method is provided for utilizing the well filter assembly in a production system.

  • Patent number: 5232048
Abstract: A prepacked well screen assembly for preventing sand from being produced with well fluids. The assembly includes a filter medium surrounded by an outer support, with the outer surface of the filter medium being fluted or otherwise shaped to have a larger outer surface area than the surface area of the outer support member surrounding the filter medium.

  • Patent number: 5207282
Abstract: Fracture initiation and propagation during drilling or running casing in a well are prevented or inhibited by including an effective amount of a specially sized solid particulate loss prevention material in the well fluid prior to encountering formation breakdown in a susceptible zone.

  • Patent number: 4471577
Abstract: A double spindle grinding machine has a pair of grinding spindles mounted on feed tables for performing two independent grinding operations. A pair of work spindles for holding workpieces to be ground are rotatably mounted on a supporting frame which undergoes angular displacement in forward and reverse directions through an arc of 180.degree. to alternately position the workpieces held by the two spindles opposite alternate ones of the two grinding spindles. A swing shaft is connected to the supporting frame and is alternately driven in forward and reverse directions to displace the supporting frame to extreme forward and reverse positions so as to alternately position the workpieces in opposed relation to alternate ones of the grinding spindles.

  • Patent number: 4459877
Abstract: A center column type rotary index machine comprises a rotary index table which is intermittently rotated in angular increments to position a jig mounted on the index table at predetermined processing stations. A vertically movable center column undergoes upward and downward movement relative to a fixed frame portion of the machine. In order to ensure precise positioning of the jig at the processing stations, a clamp rod is slidably mounted on the fixed frame portion and is provided at its lower end with a taper portion which coacts with a complementary-shaped taper portion on the index table to position the index table so that the jig is precisely positioned at one of the processing stations.
