  • Patent number: 5970839
Abstract: A device that is able to reduce the variation in the clearance between the upper and lower blades and of which the clearance adjustment operation is simple. The work cutting apparatus has a freely rotating ram mounted with an upper blade. An axial direction pressure application means that prevents any play in the axial direction at the bearing being the rotating pivot of this ram by the application of pressure is arranged. The axial direction pressure application means applies pressure in the axial direction to the inner wheel of the bearing via the spacer by a cylinder attached to the rotating support shaft and pressurizes the bearing. The pair of upper and lower blades each form an approximate L-shape and the rotating support shaft is positioned such that it is at an angle within the horizontal plane with respect to each side of the upper and lower blades.

  • Patent number: 5967014
Abstract: A work cutting apparatus in which clearance adjustment is simultaneously possible for the two sides of the L-shape of the blade by a single adjustment operation and in which the elevation system of the movable blade has a simple arrangement. The work cutting apparatus is provided with a fixed blade of which the plan shape is approximately L-shaped, and a movable blade that moves vertically and comprises an approximate l-shape in alignment with the fixed blade. The movable blade is mounted on the tip of a ram that pivots vertically via a pivot support shaft arranged on the lower frame. The pivot support shaft is an eccentric shaft and, by adjusting the rotation of the angle of the shaft, the oscillation center of the ram is changed and the clearance adjustment of the blades is possible.

  • Patent number: 5852964
Abstract: When power failures or breakdowns occur, an apparatus that is able to hold the upper blade in the raised position without using the drive source and increase the safety and facilitate maintenance and inspection. The work cutting apparatus that cuts by a pair of upper and lower blades is provided with a freely rotating ram mounted with an upper blade, a ram drive device that rotates the ram and an exertion devices that applies a force in the upwards rotation direction to the ram. The rotation center shaft of the ram is positioned at a angle within the horizontal plane with respect to the sides of the pair of upper and lower blades. The exertion devices is positioned such that the horizontal component of that applied force is at right angles to the rotation center shaft. Furthermore, the exertion devices comprises a plurality of coil springs and positions these plural coil springs parallel such that the ends are each aligned with each other along one side of the upper and lower blades.

  • Patent number: 5070593
Abstract: In the punch press of the present invention, a head portion to which are loaded punch and die (tools), a tool receiving portion for receiving a plurality of tools therein, and a tool changer disposed therebetween to effect the delivery of tools, are provided integrally, and the tool receiving portion is formed around a throat so as to be rotatable in a direction in which it intersects the axis of the throat, the throat functioning to support upper and lower frames.
