  • Publication number: 20090324807
Abstract: A method for forming a porous material is to mix a porous first basic material with a sacrificial material compatible with the first basic material to let the sacrificial material permeate into the pores of the first basic material to form a first finished product. Subsequently, the first finished product is mixed with a second basic material and heated over the vaporization temperature of the sacrificial material to let the ingredients of the second basic material change and increase viscous force and impossible to enter the pores of the first basic material. Simultaneously, the sacrificial material is heated and vaporized to exhaust out of the pores of the first basic material, disabling the second basic material to permeate into the pores of the first basic material and thus forming a second finished product for reserving the ingredients in the pores of the first basic material.

  • Patent number: 4660927
Abstract: The invention provides a novel silicone-coated, quartz glass-made optical fiber which is very advantageous in the high efficiency of the coating process as well as in the improved workability in the connecting works of the fiber terminals for extension of the communication lines by virtue of the excellent peelability of the coating layer from the surface of the quartz glass fiber even by mere drawing the coated fiber between fingers. The coating layer is formed of a radiation- or UV-cured silicone composition comprising (A-a) an organopolysiloxane having aliphatic unsaturation, e.g. vinyl, and/or (A-b) an organopolysiloxane having mercaptoalkyl groups, e.g. 3-mercaptopropyl groups, and (B) a curing accelerator.

  • Patent number: 4331820
Abstract: A novel compound cis-6-undecene-1-chloride is prepared by reacting cis-3-octene-1-chloride with metallic magnesium to give a Grignard reagent of the chloride and then reacting the Grignard reagent with 1-bromo-3-chloropropane in the presence of a lithium copper chloride as a catalyst. The inventive compound is a useful intermediate compound for the synthetic preparation of several kinds of so-called sexual pheromone compounds of noxious insects. As an example of such sexual pheromone compounds, the synthetic preparation of cis-9-tetradecenyl acetate is described.

  • Patent number: 4324931
Abstract: The invention provides a novel class of organic compounds 1-halo-4-decene as a useful intermediate for the synthesis of cis-6-heneicosen-11-one which is a promising exterminating chemical of the noxious insect Douglas-fir tussock moth in North American forests acting as a sexual pheromone. The synthetic procedures for the synthetic preparation of the above 1-halo-4-decene are also described.
