  • Patent number: 6750531
Abstract: To provide a semiconductor device in which reduction of a variation in resistance value of a polycrystalline silicon film resistor is promoted. In a semiconductor device and a manufacturing method therefor according to the present invention, when the polycrystalline silicon film resistor is formed, a construction thereof is achieved by determining an implantation amount of an impurity implanted into the polycrystalline silicon film resistor through a novel technique to constitute a semiconductor integrated circuit device superior in performance.

  • Patent number: 5897047
Abstract: A method of connecting an aluminum part with a steel part using a friction welding technique. The aluminum part is heat treated such as T6 treatment to raise its hardness. After that, the aluminum part is friction welded to the steel part. The steel part may also be heat treated to lower its hardness instead of or in addition to hardening of the aluminum part. A third part which has an intermediate hardness may be placed between the aluminum part and the steel part, and the aluminum part may be coupled with the steel part via the third part.

  • Patent number: 5836753
Abstract: A seal arrangement for an engine-driven supercharger to prevent burning and abnormal wear of an rubber-made oil seal fitted on a shaft of a rotor of the supercharger. The supercharger includes a housing, a rotor chamber is formed in the housing and the rotor is rotatably placed in the rotor chamber. A shaft chamber is formed next to the rotor chamber. The rotor shaft projects from the rotor chamber into the shaft chamber in a longitudinal direction of the rotor. A bearing is provided inside the shaft chamber for supporting the rotor shaft at a free end of the rotor shaft. A lubrication oil is fed to the bearing. The supercharger sucks external air into the rotor chamber by making the rotor chamber pressure negative and rotates the rotor for compressing the air in the rotor chamber. The oil seal is fitted on the rotor shaft between the bearing and the rotor chamber for defining an oil chamber in the shaft chamber between the oil seal and the bearing.

  • Patent number: 5785024
Abstract: A cylinder head device for an internal combustion engine has a cylinder head with a mounting hole in which a fuel injector is inserted and a ring-shaped metal gasket. The mounting hole has an annular seat surface for supporting the fuel injector therein. The metal gasket is sandwiched between the fuel injector and the seat surface. The metal gasket includes a core and a coating layer for covering the entire surface of the core. The core has a contour approximately formed in the shape of a truncated cone in section, and also has inner and outer circumferential edges curved in an arc shape.

  • Patent number: 5655782
Abstract: A seal device for a Lysholm compressor has a carbon seal ring and a metal maintaining ring arranged peripherally of a shaft of a male or female rotor, the seal ring being pressed against the maintaining ring to achieve sealing. Square root of a sum of square of surface roughness of the seal ring and square of surface roughness of the maintaining ring is in the range of 0.8 to 2.5 Z, which prevents occurrence of blisters on a surface of the seal ring and leaked oil amount can be within the leakage permissible level.

  • Patent number: 4986552
Abstract: A sealing assembly is adapted to be disposed between a stationary part and a rotary shaft in the stationary part so as to provide a seal in the gap between the stationary part and the rotary shaft. The sealing assembly has a slinger capable of rotating as a unit with the rotary shaft, and a rubber seal having a lip which makes a sliding contact with the slinger. The portion of the slinger contacted by the lip of the rubber seal is provided with apertures which allow a lubricating oil to flow into the region of the sliding contact between the lip of the seal rubber and the portion of the slinger.

  • Patent number: 4974860
Abstract: A sealing device is adapted to be disposed between a stationary part and a rotary shaft in the stationary part so as provide a seal in the gap between the stationary part and the rotary shaft. The sealing device has a slinger secured to one of the stationary part and the rotary shaft and a rubber seal secured to the other of the stationary part and the rotary shaft and provided with a lip which makes a resilient pressure contact with the slinger. When the rotation speed of the rotary shaft is increased, centrifugal force is increased to cause a tendency to decrease the pressure of contact between the lip and the slinger so that the wear of the lip is prevented to improve the durability of the sealing device. In addition, the resistance torque produced by the sealing device is not increased substantially even when the speed of rotation of the rotary shaft is increased.
