Patent number: 7468851Abstract: The invention provides an optical head device in which the influence of mechanical vibration generated at resonance frequencies of high orders (second and higher orders) can be eliminated and an optical recording/reproducing apparatus utilizing the same. Sidewalls are formed from both ends of a sidewall constituting the top side of a trapezoidal contour of a lens holder portion, the sidewalls extending in the form of a fan to define a predetermined angle between them. A damping system includes a weight in the form of a metal thin plate and a visco-elastic adhesive for bonding the weight to the sidewalls. The visco-elastic adhesive transfers vibration of the lens holder in the direction of an optical axis of an objective lens to the weight and has a viscous damping property which damps vibration of the weight in the direction of the optical axis.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2006Date of Patent: December 23, 2008Assignees: TDK Corporation, TDK Taiwan CorporationInventors: Masara Uno, Yasuhiro Terasaki, Nobuo Uekusa, Yi Lang Chan

Optical head device for an optical disk apparatus reading and writing information on an optical disk
Patent number: 7203951Abstract: An optical head device for an optical disk apparatus for optically reading and writing information by irradiating a light spot onto an information recording surface of an optical recording medium, which is capable of moving an objective lens to a predetermined position even when part of the drive coil is included in an neutral area n in the vicinity of the magnetic boundary. There are provided two driving force generating units, including two magnets 50a and 50b disposed in the tangential direction of an optical disk separately on the opposite sides of an objective lens 10, and coil units 60a and 60b for generating the driving force directed against the magnets 50a and 50b disposed on a lens holder 20, and the magnets 50a and 50b and the coil units 60a and 60b are arranged in such a manner that the driving force other than the driving force generated for tracking movement and the moment act against each other at the two driving force generating units.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2003Date of Patent: April 10, 2007Assignee: TDK CorporationInventors: Noriyuki Kawano, Nobuo Uekusa -

Patent number: 6463019Abstract: An optical pickup comprises an objective-lens driving device including a movable section provided with an objective lens, a focusing coil, and tracking coils, and a fixed section provided with a single magnetic circuit having a magnetic gap, the focusing coil and the tracking coils being disposed in the magnetic gap. The point of application of a tracking-driving force, the point of application of a result force of focusing-driving forces occurring in and outside the magnetic gap, and the position of the center of gravity of the movable section are made to substantially coincide with each other. In addition, the objective lens and the magnetic circuit are disposed within an area of a window in a lower shell of a optical disk. Further, a through hole for accommodating a lower portion of a yoke of the magnetic circuit is provided in a mounting base on which the objective-lens driving device is mounted.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2001Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: TDK CorporationInventors: Noriyuki Kawano, Kouichi Ogura, Yoshio Saito, Mitsuru Kinouchi, Nobuo Uekusa, Hiroyuki Matsuura
