    Abstract: A variable speed V-belt transmission in which the axially movable pulley half has fixed to it a cap that defines an internal cavity in which the speed responsive mechanism is incorporated for axially moving this pulley half. The cap is formed with a plurality of apertures that pass a portion of the transmission when the axially movable pulley half is in one of its extreme positions for cooling the transmission.
