  • Patent number: 9482475
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a shell; a pair of tube plates provided at both ends of the shell; a plurality of heat transfer tubes supported by the tube plates and housed in the shell; and a high-temperature fluid inlet connection for introducing a high-temperature fluid into the shell. A cooling jacket having a porous structure, over which a cooling fluid is to be spread, is provided on the interior surface of the high-temperature fluid inlet connection.

  • Publication number: 20120145367
Abstract: In one embodiment, a heat exchanger is provided with an inside shell, an outside shell, a cooling portion, and an inlet nozzle. The inside shell has an inside space for flowing a fluid, and an opening portion for outflowing the fluid from the inside space. The outside shell covers the inside shell to form a first passage between them to flow the fluid outflowing from the opening portion. The cooling portion is disposed within the inside shell to cool the fluid within the inside space. The inlet nozzle has an inner pipe, an outer pipe, and an outlet pipe. The inner pipe flows the fluid into the inside space through the outside shell. The outer pipe covers the inner pipe to form a second passage between them and has its one end connected to the outside shell to communicate the second passage with the first passage, and its other end connected to the inner pipe on the outside of the outside shell to seal the second passage to flow the fluid partly from the first passage to the second passage.

  • Patent number: 7711217
Abstract: An active sensor 10 is positioned on an outside of a pipe 60 so as to detect a thickness of the pipe. The active sensor comprises: an oscillator 15 capable of inputting oscillatory waves into the pipe and sweeping a frequency of the oscillatory waves within a desired range; and an optical fiber sensor mounted on the pipe, the optical fiber sensor detecting the oscillatory waves generated in the pipe.

  • Patent number: 7303659
Abstract: Plural composite panels are aligned in multiple horizontal rows. Each composite panel includes a titanium panel (anode), an electrical insulating member and a stainless-steel band member. The titanium panels (also, stainless-steel band members) of horizontally adjacent panels overlap each other to be in face-to-face contact. The stainless-steel band members are horizontally connected at different levels to form long negative electrodes (cathode) extending in seawater-flowing direction in an inlet channel. Each stainless-steel band member is exposed to seawater through a gap between vertically adjacent composite panels.
