  • Patent number: 5105632
Abstract: In a refrigeration system in the form of a refrigerant circulation circuit, a first valve is disposed within a bypass circuit of the circulation circuit for being opened to supply therethrough the hot gas outflowing from a compressor directly into an evaporator. A second valve is interposed between a condenser and the evaporator for being closed to prohibit flow of refrigerant from the condenser into the evaporator therethrough. A first relay is energized to open the second valve when a first detecting element detects finish in cooling of medium caused by thermal exchange with the evaporator. A second relay is energized to close the first valve when a second detecting element detects finish in vaporization of liquefied refrigerant accumulated within the evaporator during cooling of the medium.

  • Patent number: 4986083
Abstract: In a freezer machine having a refrigeration system in the form of a circulation circuit including a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator coil arranged for thermal exchange with a freezing receptacle, and a solenoid valve of the normally closed type disposed within a bypass circuit of the circulation circuit to supply therethrough the hot gas outflowing from the compressor directly into the evaporator coil when it has been energized, an electric control circuit for the freezer machine is designed to repeatedly measure a first predetermined period of time, for instance four hours, in a condition where said compressor is being deactivated, to measure a second predetermined period of time, for instance three minutes, upon each lapse of the first predetermined period of time and to activate the compressor for the second predetermined period of time upon each lapse of the first predetermined period of time and energize the solenoid valve in response to activation of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4869076
Abstract: An ice making machine comprises an ice forming member, a water tank for storing ice forming water to be supplied to the ice forming member, a water distribution pipe for supplying ice forming water onto the ice forming member, a first pipe having one end connected to the water distribution pipe, and a circulating pump having an intake port communicated to the water tank. The circulating pump is of a reversible rotation type and includes a first discharge port connected to the other end of the first pipe for delivering ice forming water to the ice forming member during an ice production cycle, and a second discharge port connected to a second pipe for discharging water from the water tank to a location other than the water distribution pipe during a deicing cycle. The location at which the second pipe discharge water can be a defreezing water distribution pipe for supplying defreezing water for removal of ice or a drain conduit in fluid communication with the exterior of the ice making machine.

  • Patent number: 4854130
Abstract: A refrigerating apparatus comprises a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and a evaporator which are interconnected serially through a pipeline to form a closed circulation circuit. A check valve allowing a coolant flow only toward the condenser is provided between the discharge port of the compressor and the condenser. A hot gas bypass circuit is connected at one end to a junction between the compressor and the check valve and at the other end to a junction between the expansion valve and the evaporator. The check valve serves to prevent backflow of coolant to the hot gas bypass circuit during the hot gas operation mode without hindering the flow of the coolant gas through the closed circulation circuit during the normal refrigerating operation.

  • Patent number: 4785640
Abstract: A refrigerating apparatus includes a compressor, a condenser, a capillary and an evaporator. A bypass conduit with a valve is arranged so that the refrigerant discharged from the compressor will bypass at least the condenser and the capillary so as to return to the inlet side of the compressor. The pressure or the temperature of the refrigerant in the apparatus is sensed by a sensor. When the sensed value is less than a prescribed value, the valve is opened to return the hot gas to the compressor. The compressor is driven for elevating its temperature.

  • Patent number: 4617806
Abstract: A liquid level control apparatus which detects a liquid level in a tank employed, for example, in ice making equipment, to thereby trigger a control operation. The level control apparatus comprises a tank containing a body of liquid, a float movable in response to the vertical movement of the surface of liquid within the tank, a hollow case having a closed top and an open bottom, and a guide member disposed within the case for guiding the vertical movement of the float. The hollow case is arranged so that the open bottom thereof is closed by the rising liquid to thereby from a hermetically closed chamber within the case. An upstanding tubular member extends into the hollow case such that the lower end of the tube defines a level of liquid at which the hermetically closed chamber is formed. The chamber thus formed is effective for preventing the guide member from being immersed in the liquid to assure smooth movement of the float.
