  • Patent number: 4961021
Abstract: The disclosed relates to a convergence apparatus to be used for a single electron gun type cathode-ray tube, and relates to a convergence yoke to be used for the convergence apparatus. Each of two magnetic poles for generating a bipolar magnetic field is constituted by a first one of a plurality of core protrusions located on a horizontal or vertical axis and at least one pair of second ones of the plurality of core protrusions located at positions equiangularly and symmetrically deviated from the horizontal or vertical axis, and a ratio of an ampere turn of the coil wound on each of at least one pair of second core protrusions to an ampere turn of the coil wound on the first core protrusion is suitably changed. A firt magnetic auxiliary plate and a second magnetic auxiliary plate are provided on a first core protrusion constituting each of a first pair of magnetic poles and on a second core protrusion constituting each of a second pair of magnetic poles respectively.

  • Patent number: 4737692
Abstract: A deflection yoke unit to be mounted on a cathode ray tube has a core on which a set of vertical deflection coils and a set of horizontal deflection coils are wound. A pincushion distortion correction device is provided for the deflection yoke unit. The correction device has a set of correction coils having a coil conductor mass quantity and an inductance which are smaller than those of the vertical deflection coil set and having a winding density distribution which is similar to that of the vertical deflection coil set. An upper and lower pincushion distortion correction current is passed through the correction coil set to correct upper and lower pincushion distortions in pictures displayed on a screen of the cathode ray tube. The core has, on its inner wall, slots in which windings of the horizontal deflection coil set, vertical deflection coil set and correction coil set for correction of the upper and lower pincushion picture distortions are received.

  • Patent number: 4725763
Abstract: A convergence correcting device for correcting mis-convergence of a cathode ray tube having in-line electron guns and, at the same time, correcting coma at the top and bottom of the screen, the device comprising pole pieces provided for the outermost electron beams for producing 4-pole magnetic fields used for convergence correction, a convergence yoke for applying the magnetic fields to the pole pieces, a convergence coil wound on the convergence yoke, a coil for producing a coma correcting magnetic field which cancels a leakage flux created between the right and left pole pieces by the vertical deflection coil, and current sources for supply currents to the coils.

  • Patent number: 4433318
Abstract: A deflection yoke for a picture tube of a projection color television receiver set has a solenoid-shaped auxiliary coil arranged adjacent to a core of the deflection yoke with a center axis of the auxiliary coil being aligned to a center axis of the deflection yoke. A vertical deflection current or a horizontal deflection current is supplied to the auxiliary coil. An electron beam is deflected by a magnetic field generated by the current of the auxiliary coil so that a raster formed on a face plate of the picture tube is deformed. The raster is deformed to such an extent that it has a correct shape when it is projected on a screen.

  • Patent number: 4420734
Abstract: A projection color television receiver set comprises three picture tubes juxtaposed to one another and producing red, green and blue light images which are projected through respective lenses onto a single screen to be reproduced as a single synthesized color picture. In order that rectangular rasters produced by the picture tubes disposed at both sides of the center picture tube are prevented from being deformed into trapezoidal rasters when projected on the screen, deflecting yokes used in the lateral picture tubes are provided with horizontal deflection winding in such arrangement that trapezoidal rasters are produced on faceplates of the laterally disposed picture tubes, respectively, which rasters are projected in a rectangular form on the single screen in alignment with the rectangular raster produced and projected from the center picture tube, whereby a color picture of an improved quality is reproduced on the screen, involving substantially no misconvergence.
