  • Publication number: 20050219899
Abstract: A reading/writing process control unit for instructing a reading/writing process and an erasing process control unit for instructing an erasing process are provided separately and each is connected with two HDDs via a switch. While the reading/writing process control unit is connected with one HDD and executing a reading/writing process, a switch is controlled to connect the erasing process control unit with another HDD to erase data of the HDD connected with the erasing process control unit. Since it is enabled to execute a data reading/writing process and a data erasing process for a storage device in parallel for different HDDs, lowering of the access rate as a whole can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050219220
Abstract: When a standby state is released, the attitude detector detects its own attitude, and a display style of key identification images assigned to the respective input keys and an image to be displayed on the display unit is determined based on the detection result. Then, set values fitting the display style are read from a display table and a key arrangement table, and switching of control is performed. Next, when switching of control is determined to be completed, the key identification images and output image are displayed in the set display style, and the display direction is optimized. Thus, the display style of the key identification images that are indicators for identifying input keys and the output image displayed on the display unit is automatically optimized according to the attitude.

  • Patent number: 6896354
Abstract: Print is made on a recording paper by running an ink carriage along the supporting axis in a reciprocating motion. The ink carriage includes ink heads respectively provided with a front ink nozzle and a back ink nozzle facing their respective directions, so that print is made simultaneously at two portions on the recording paper along the transportation direction in which the recording paper is transported through a single transportation path one by one. Consequently, there can be provided an ink jet printer which can improve printing efficiency by increasing a printing rate and printing resolution, and realizing printing of an overstrike character, simultaneous printing of mixed information, double-side printing, etc.

  • Patent number: 6621992
Abstract: Four original size and paper size combinations are displayed together with arrow indicators on a display panel, in order of use frequency. Each size is displayed by text and pattern and enlargement or reduction with the necessity of rotation also indicated. By operating scroll keys, the display of the arrows in the arrow indicators moves from one to another while the display of four possible original size and paper size combinations among all the possible combinations is shown in a scrolling manner. The operator operates the scroll keys to scroll the four combinations displayed within the display panel and selects the arrow indicator indicating the arrow that corresponds to the desired combination to be set up for the copying operation.

  • Patent number: 5696538
Abstract: A pen input apparatus of the present invention is provided with an apparatus for detecting an inclination of an input pen. The apparatus for detecting an inclination of an input pen is composed of a hemispherical container, a conductive movable body, and detecting means. The hemispherical container, in which a hemispherical cavity is created, has an axis congruent with the axis of the input pen, and is provided so as to integrally move with the input pen, while a plurality of ring-shaped electrodes are concentrically provided with the input pen. The conductive movable body is provided in the hemispherical cavity, and moves according to the inclination of the input pen due to gravity. The detecting means detects the position of the movable body in the hemispherical cavity in accordance with how continuity is between the ring-shaped electrodes, and detects an inclination of the input pen in accordance with the detected position of the movable body.
