  • Patent number: 6634248
Abstract: A vehicular shift control apparatus, including a drive mechanism, has first and second solenoids, first and second switches, a shift switch and a controller. The first and second solenoids control the drive mechanism in forward and reverse modes, respectively, and connect with the first and second switches, respectively, which supply the solenoids with a current when actuated. The shift switch selectively supplies the first and second switches with the current. The controller actuates and de-actuates the first and second switches based on the speed of the vehicle. The first and second switches can be actuated when the speed is lower than a predetermined value and a corresponding forward or reverse gear is selected when one of the first and second switches corresponding to the shift mode of the moving vehicle remains closed the other switch is open and cannot be closed except when the speed is below the predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20030018640
Abstract: An endoscopic examination system consists mainly of an examination terminal, a report input/output terminal, and a server. The examination terminal is connected to endoscopic examination equipment. The report input/output terminal is used to enter environmental information concerning the details of an environment under which an endoscopic examination is performed (an examining doctor's name, a name of equipment employed, etc.), and reporting information concerning the results of an endoscopic examination (findings, diagnosis, etc.). The examination data (endoscopic image data, etc.) sent from the examination terminal, and the reporting information and examination request sent from the report input/output terminal server are preserved in the server.

  • Publication number: 20020186127
Abstract: A vehicle having a power assist device and an engine protecting apparatus is capable of steering and braking after any abnormality of the engine is detected. The engine protecting apparatus includes a battery, a key switch, a condition switch, a timer and a timer-operative switch. The battery supplies an electric current to the ignition circuit of the engine. The key switch is disposed between the battery and the ignition circuit and has an ignition terminal. The condition switch turns on and off based on engine conditions. The condition switch is connected to the ignition terminal of the key switch. The timer is connected to the ignition terminal of the key switch and has a predetermined period of time. The timer measures a time period from when the condition switch is turned on. The timer-operative switch is actuated by the timer. The timer-operative switch interrupts the electric current flowing to the ignition circuit when the timer measures the predetermined time period.

  • Publication number: 20010041825
Abstract: An endoscopic image filing system mainly comprises an endoscope apparatus for performing endoscopical examination by way of an endoscopic image, an image filing apparatus connected with the endoscope apparatus for recording a required endoscopic image, and a cleaning apparatus for sterilizing/cleaning an endoscope used in the endoscope apparatus. The image filing apparatus is provided with a keyboard and a mouse for inputting and setting a variety of data. The cleaning apparatus is provided with a keyboard for inputting data and a printer for printing a sticker or the like which indicates that the endoscope has already been cleaned and is stuck for the endoscope after cleaned, for example. The cleaning apparatus is capable of transmitting cleaning information to the image filing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5778159
Abstract: In an outputting method and apparatus for use with a laser beam printer or the like which handles binary data or multivalue data and can express a density of a half, the capacity of a memory provided in the printer is detected and the gradation number of multivalue image data is changed or reduced in a smaller gradation number, e.g., binary data, in accordance with the memory capacity. A part of the input multivalue image data is set in white or black binary data values. Thus, an image of a high quality can be promptly generated with high precision, and the data amount to be processed can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5655129
Abstract: In a TRIE dictionary, it is to retrieve a character string including a wild card and a normal expression at high speed. By extract a substring of M characters from the start of a word character string of length L, making a backward TRIE having the end of the substring as a route node with the aid of the substring, deciding a prefix portion from a substring in which the number of input characters has been decided to be small, and retrieving an original TRIE, both the necessary cost of space (dictionary size) and the retrieval cost (retrieval time) are balanced.

  • Patent number: 5573273
Abstract: A tilt steering device includes an instrument panel having an inserting hole formed on the upper surface thereof and a forward and rearward movably disposed steering column which projects upwardly of the instrument panel through the inserting hole of the instrument panel. A meter box is mounted on the steering column above the instrument panel and a rubber boot for covering the space between the instrument panel and the meter box is fixed to the lower portion of the meter box. The rubber boot is arranged such that the lower end portion thereof slides on the upper surface of the instrument panel in accordance with the movement of the steering column.

  • Patent number: 5067166
Abstract: A pattern recognition method and apparatus using dynamic programming in which an input sequence of labels is matched to a set of candidate templates (candidate reference label sequences). The set of candidate reference label sequences is grouped into subsets, where each reference label sequence in a subset has a common root reference label subsequence. Using this set organization, a depth-first search is performed to identify a local optimum template and its local optimum match score with the input sequence of labels. Using the local optimum match score as a threshold, the input sequence of labels is matched to root reference label subsequences, eliminating those root reference label subsequences having match scores above the threshold. Surviving root reference label subsequences having match scores below the threshold remain recognition candidates, and are further investigated.
