  • Patent number: 6242904
Abstract: A rotation detector (100) includes a first transmitting element (1) and a second transmitting element (3) each disposed opposite a gear rotor (5) attached to a rotating body as a detected member. A signal processing device (13) is connected to the first transmitting element and the second transmitting element for generating pulse signals based on rotation signals generated by the first transmitting element and the second transmitting element. The rotation detector is characterized in that the signal processing device generates the pulse signals with different pulse widths to distinguish between the case where the first transmitting element generates the rotation signal prior to the first transmitting element and the case where the second transmitting element generates the rotation signal prior to the first transmitting element.

  • Patent number: 5197006
Abstract: An electronically controlled automatic transmission system for applying and releasing clutches and brakes when the gears for the speed ranges are to be shifted or changed in accordance with the drive torque of the engine. Each brake and clutch is controlled by a solenoid valve and a manual valve. The manual valves control the application of fluid pressure to the clutches and the brakes. Each manual valve has a separate solenoid valve which controls the manual valve in accordance with the detected value of the driving force of the engine. In addition, the automatic transmission system measures the number of revolutions of the input shaft to the automatic transmission after the clutches and brakes at the release side are released for a gear shift, and detects the acceleration of the number of revolutions of the input shaft of the automatic transmission.

  • Patent number: 5101315
Abstract: In a drive control apparatus for an electric actuator to be activated under control of a changeover switch, the drive control apparatus including a power transistor arranged to supply therethrough the power to the electric actuator from an electric power source in response to operation of the changeover switch, a presumptive temperature of the power transistor is previously memorized and renewed in consideration with an increment of temperature change caused by consumption of the power when the electric actuator has been activated. The presumptive temperature is further renewed in consideration with a decrement of temperature change caused by lapse of time after the electric actuator has been deactivated. The power supply to the electric actuator is permitted only when the presumptive temperature is lower than a predetermined value. When the presumptive temperature becomes higher than the predetermined value, the power supply to the electric actuator is prohibited.

  • Patent number: 5024459
Abstract: A suspension pressure control system applies a pressure which is proportional to a current level supplied to a solenoid of a pressure control valve to a shock absorber associated with a suspension from the valve. When a pressure in a high pressure line which feeds a high pressure to the pressure control valve falls (rises), the pressure applied to the suspension is decreased (increased). Accordingly, the pressure in the high pressure line is detected by a sensor, and if it is low (high), the current level of the pressure control valve is corrected to a high value (low value). In order to prevent an abnormal pressure rise in the suspension which may be caused by an excessive pressure rise in the high pressure line during an idling operation of an engine, a correction which responds to the pressure of the high pressure line is chosen large when a vehicle speed is equal to zero or very low.

  • Patent number: 4845621
Abstract: There is disclosed a speed control apparatus installed in an automobile equipped with an automatic transmission. This apparatus includes a microcomputer, an input interface circuit, an output interface circuit, an actuator for the automatic transmission, and an actuator for maintaining the speed of the automobile at the speed set by the driver. The apparatus controls the operation of the transmission in such a way that it shifts into another gear, depending on the automobile speed or engine speed and also on the engine load or the throttle opening. The speed set by the driver is maintained by controlling the throttle opening. The apparatus estimates the driving force of the transmission when it makes an upshift, from the present speed, the present throttle opening, and the present transmission gear. If the estimated force is not sufficiently large, then such an upshift is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 4608550
Abstract: Communication of electric signals between a control board mounted on a steering wheel but held in stationary state irrespective of a rotation of the steering wheel and an electric controller disposed at a position remote from a steering mechanism. The control board is supported by a steering drive shaft through a toothed wheel mechanism, so that it remains stationary regardless of a rotation of the shaft. The control board and the electric controller are electrically coupled to each other through a combination of slip rings and brushes, a pair of coils, or two pairs of coils. The control board and the electric controller include each an FSK modulation circuit, an FSK demodulation circuit and a microprocessor for controlling transmission or reception of the electric signals. Key inputs on the control board are encoded by the control board and then transmitted to the electric controller. The electric controller decodes the received code and then renders operation instructions to load-vehicle equipments.
