Abstract: An improved arrangement for connecting a diaphragm and an actuator rod in a diaphragm-operated device, which is simple in construction and easy to assemble or disassemble. The arrangement includes a diaphragm of elastic material having a movable central portion and a connection boss formed at the movable portion. The connection boss has a blind bore in which is fitted an actuator rod for elastic engagement. A retainer is fitted over the outer periphery of the connection boss for restraining deformation of the connection boss. The retainer is urged against the diaphragm by means of a return spring which acts to resiliently urge the diaphragm in one direction.
