  • Patent number: 7715631
Abstract: An apparatus for extracting feature information from each of a plurality of electronic documents that constitutes a group of documents, for each of a plurality of viewpoints includes an extracting unit that extracts feature information from each of the electronic documents for each of the viewpoints, a calculating unit that calculates a score for each of the viewpoints with respect to the feature information that is extracted from more than one viewpoint, and a determining unit that determines the viewpoint for the feature information that is extracted from more than one viewpoint, based on the score calculated.

  • Patent number: 7275054
Abstract: When a user inputs a first extraction condition and a second extraction condition, a first data group is extracted from data registered in a database based on the first extraction condition, and a second data group is extracted from the database based on the second extraction condition. Then, common data that is data that belongs to both the first data group and the second data group is extracted. Finally, information about the common data and other data, which is data in the second data group other than the common data, is displayed in a distinguishable manner.

  • Publication number: 20060228589
Abstract: A granular substance (1) having soft magnetic properties is provided which contains a matrix (3) composed of a nonmagnetic insulating organic material and ferromagnetic metal particles (2) dispersed in the matrix (3) and having a mean particle size of 50 nm or less, wherein the volume ratio of the matrix (3) is in the range of 5 to 50%. When the granular substance (1) is in the form of a film, it has a complex permeability the real part (??) of which is 40 or more at 1 GHz, a quality factor Q (Q=??/?? where ?? is the imaginary part of the complex permeability) of 1 or more, and a saturation magnetization of 5 kG or more.

  • Publication number: 20040230570
Abstract: This invention enables a searcher to analyze search results, intuitively. Data items of plural documents extracted by the search are presented as the following processing keys and selectable display items to a user in a first display form, and in response to the user's selection of the display item, data items of the documents corresponding to the selected display item are further presented to the user as the further following processing keys and selectable display items in a second display form designated by the user. Therefore, the analysis object and display manner are changed with an intuitive interface to progress the analysis.

  • Publication number: 20040186831
Abstract: An object of this invention is to appropriately guide a user to obtain a more adequate search result. This invention comprises the steps of: specifying a search word (and/or phrase) included in a search condition designated by the user; obtaining evaluation data that is at least either of a score based on an appearance frequency and the number of documents to be searched that include the search word or its synonym, for each of the search word and its synonym; presenting the user with search word and its synonym and the corresponding evaluation data in a manner in which one or plurality of search words and its synonyms are selectable; and presenting the user with data concerning a document to be searched that includes the search word or its synonym selected by the user.

  • Patent number: 5787244
Abstract: An information retrieval system of a client/server model for executing communication between a client unit for instructing information retrieval and a server unit for accepting the information retrieval instruction. The client unit includes an abnormality-in-communication detecting unit for detecting the occurrence of an abnormality in communication. A retrieval condition holding unit holds retrieval conditions relating to the information retrieval, that have been inputted up to the point of interruption of the information retrieval, when the server unit enters the state of an abnormal end due to an abnormality in communication and when the information retrieval is interrupted. A retrieval requesting unit reads out the retrieval conditions from the retrieval condition holding unit and sends them to the server unit at the time of restart of the interrupted information retrieval, when the retrieval conditions in the retrieval condition holding unit are judged as necessary.
