Publication number: 20060283265Abstract: A torque wrench is configured such that power supplied from an air motor is transmitted to a ratchet unit via a reduction gear unit in order to rotate a spindle connected to the ratchet unit. The torque wrench includes a ratchet housing accommodating the ratchet unit, a body coupled with the ratchet housing and accommodating the air motor, a strain gage bonded to the ratchet housing, a battery box accommodated within the body, and a circuit board fixed to a housing cover covering the ratchet housing and having a torque adjustment circuit provided thereon. The circuit board is connected to the battery box via a conductive wire running though a wiring groove formed on the body. Leads of the strain gage are connected to the circuit board within the housing cover.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2006Publication date: December 21, 2006Inventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa

Patent number: 7036795Abstract: A valve apparatus for an air tool which has a valve rotatably disposed in a cylinder portion of a body of the air tool in which an air motor is accommodated; and a lever fixed to the valve and slidably received within a slit-shaped opening formed in the cylinder portion. The valve includes a first disc portion having an air inlet, a lever-fixing portion having an air passage which communicates with the air inlet, and a second disc portion having an air outlet which communicates with the air passage. The lever-fixing portion is narrower than the first and second disc portions. The lever has a knob portion slidable within the opening and a generally U-shaped engagement portion fixed to the lever-fixing portion so that two legs of the engagement portion sandwich the lever-fixing portion from diametrically opposite sides.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2004Date of Patent: May 2, 2006Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Shinano SeisakushoInventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa

Patent number: 6935437Abstract: An air drill includes a body having a grip portion having an air supply passage and an air exhaust passage formed therein, a trigger portion formed above the grip portion and supporting a trigger, and a cylinder portion formed above the trigger portion and accommodating an air motor. A reverse valve is disposed within the cylinder portion in order to switch the direction of rotation of the air motor between forward and reverse directions. Two reverse levers are disposed in an upper portion of the reverse valve and slidably accommodated in two slit-shaped openings, respectively, which are formed in a grip-portion-side end of the cylinder portion.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2003Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Shinano SeisakushoInventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa

The valve includes a first disc portion having an air inlet, a lever-fixing portion having an air passage which communicates with the air inlet, and a second disc portion having an air outlet which communicates with the air passage. The lever-fixing portion is narrower than the first and second disc portions as measured along a direction perpendicular to the center axis of the valve. The lever has a knob portion slidable within the opening and a generally U-shaped engagement portion fixed to the lever-fixing portion so that two legs of the engagement portion sandwich the lever-fixing portion from diametrically opposite sides.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2004Publication date: May 19, 2005Inventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa

Patent number: 6640669Abstract: In a ratchet wrench, rotation of an output shaft of an air motor is transmitted to a ratchet unit via a reduction gear unit in order to rotate a spindle connected to the ratchet unit, and the ratchet unit is accommodated within a ratchet housing. The ratchet wrench includes a cover plate which covers one face of the ratchet housing opposite the other face thereof from which the spindle projects. A pair of reverse buttons are disposed on the cover plate to be slidable along a direction parallel to an output shaft of the air motor. A pair of reverse arms rotatably are attached to the reverse buttons, each reverse arm being movable together with the corresponding reverse button. The ratchet wrench further includes a reverse gear which the reverse arms engage upon movement of the reverse arms caused by sliding movement of the reverse buttons.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2002Date of Patent: November 4, 2003Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Shinano SeisakushoInventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa

Patent number: 6435060Abstract: A ratchet wrench includes a handle and a head. The handle has a motor accommodated within. The head is provided with a ratchet mechanism having a rotary tightening member which is to be rotated by drive power from the motor. A pin extends in a transverse direction with respect to the axis of the handle so as to connect the head with the handle. A crankshaft is connected to an output shaft of the motor. A crankpin of the crankshaft is rotatably fitted into a first drive bush. The first drive bush is fitted into a first drive member such that the first drive bush is slidable in the transverse direction. The first drive member is connected to the pin in such a manner that the first drive member is rotatable about the pin and slidable along the pin. A second drive member is connected to the pin in such a manner that the second drive member is rotatable about the pin and slidable together with the first drive member along. the pin.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Shinano SeisakushoInventor: Nobuyuki Izumisawa
