Abstract: A telephone number display method for a portable telephone is disclosed, in which desired data can be readily found out from data extracted by retrieval of telephone numbers registered as telephone number diary data. In a portable telephone set, in which telephone number diary data such as names of persons and telephone numbers are preliminarily registered, the registered data are retrieved by such method as a group retrieval method and a kana affixing retrieval method, and registered names and telephone numbers of the retrieved data are displayed in a predetermined sequence of display together with the total number of cases of each data piece of the extracted telephone number diary data and the serial number of the data in display in the display sequence.

Abstract: A portable telephone has a readable and writable internal memory unit, a readable, writable, and detachable external memory unit, a connecting unit for connecting the external memory unit to the main body of the portable telephone, and a control unit. The control unit can memorize information such as a mail in either one of the internal memory unit and the external memory unit, transfer information memorized in either one of the internal memory unit and the external memory unit to the other, and display an information memory territory for each piece of information, when the external memory unit is connected to the connecting unit.

Abstract: The portable data terminal has a memory unit 14, an operation unit 16 and a display unit 17, these units being controlled by a control unit 13, and displays received (or transmitted) mails as a received (or transmitted) mail list 20A on the display unit 17. The user operates the operation unit 15 to permit selection of mails concerning a particular sender (or destination) among received (or transmitted) mails stored in the memory unit 14, extraction of the concerning mails and display of the extracted mails as a mail list for individual senders (or destinations). The portable data terminal improves the operability of simply and quickly doing a retrieval operation when a list of transmitted and received mails is displayed.

Abstract: There is provided a selective calling receiver including a display, a radio signal receiver, a detector detecting and waveform-shaping a radio signal, a first memory storing therein at least one calling number of the selective calling receiver, a second memory storing received message data therein, a third memory storing therein a map defining a relation between bit rows and letter data, a decoder decoding a signal transmitted from the means, and discriminating whether a calling number in a received signal is coincident with the calling number of the selective calling receiver, and a discriminator discriminating whether the received message data is text data or graphics data, based on the calling number of the selective calling receive.

Abstract: In a device applicable to a pager or similar electronic apparatus for detecting a thin disk-like primary battery which feeds power to a load circuit, a secondary battery is provided which is complementary to the primary battery. A receiving portion receives the primary battery and has a first contact terminal for contacting the positive electrode side of the battery, a second contact terminal for contacting the negative electrode side of the battery at one end and connected to ground at the other end, and a third contact terminal contacting the negative electrode side of the battery at one end. When the primary battery is inserted in the receiving portion in a predetermined orientation, a detecting unit determines that the battery is present on the basis of the contact of the second and third contact terminals via the negative electrode side of the battery.

Abstract: A call number of a selective calling receiver stored in an ID-ROM is ready by an ID number reading portion to be sent from an infrared ray outputting portion as an infrared ray signal. An infrared ray signal given from a further selective calling receiver is converted into an electric signal by an infrared ray sensor and its call number is detected from the electric signal by an ID number detecting portion to be additionally registered in the ID-ROM.

Abstract: An individual radio selective calling receiver for selectively receiving and displaying a message transmitted by radio and having an identification number assigned thereto to selectively call the receiver includes an identification number storage section, a command registering section, a radio reception section, a command detecting section, and a control section. The identification number storage section stores identification numbers including an identification number assigned to the self-receiver. The command registering section inputs and stores an identification number copy command. The radio reception section selectively receives a message to which an identification number identical to the one registered in the identification number registering section is assigned. The command detecting section monitors the message received by the radio reception section and detects the identification number copy command registered in the command registering section.

Abstract: A pager having a notifier to notify the receipt of a call signal for itself, an LCD to display certain display messages, a light sensor to detect the light quantity of the light irradiated to the surface of the LCD, a control section to generate the contrast adjustment signal corresponding to the received light quantity of the LCD detected by the light sensor, a reference voltage generation section to generate the reference voltage according to the contrast adjustment signal generated by the control section, and an LCD driver to adjust the light intensity of the display message on the LCD according to the reference voltage supplied from the reference voltage generation section.

Abstract: A receiver of a selective calling receiver contains a single DC/DC converter selectively outputting either voltage V1 or voltage V2, V2 being greater than V1. The DC/DC converter outputs the first operation-supporting voltage V1 in standby mode and the second operation-supporting voltage V2 when the received signal is stored or read into or from a RAM.
