  • Patent number: 11459092
Abstract: An aircraft steering system includes an electric actuator, a clutch, at least one plasma actuator, and a controller. The electric actuator is configured to vary an angle of a flight control surface of an aircraft. The clutch is configured to cut off torque by driving of the electric actuator. The torque is to be transmitted to the flight control surface. The at least one plasma actuator is configured to form a flow of air on a surface of the flight control surface when the torque is cut off. The controller is configured to control the electric actuator, the clutch, and the at least one plasma actuator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 4, 2019
Date of Patent: October 4, 2022
    Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATION
Inventors: Hiroki Kato, Nobuyuki Nakazato, Iwao Murata
  • Patent number: 11214359
Abstract: A flow control system includes a movable wing attachable to a wing of an aircraft, and a plasma actuator mountable on a surface of the movable wing. The flow control system is configured to control air flow around the wing by having the changing of the steering angle of the movable wing work in conjunction with the operation of the plasma actuator.

  • Patent number: 10801399
Abstract: There is provided a supercharging system for an aircraft reciprocating engine, comprising: a plurality of compressors for supplying compressed air to the aircraft reciprocating engine; at least one turbine for obtaining rotational power for at least one of the plurality of compressors, and a plurality of motors for respectively providing rotational power to the plurality of compressors. An object of the present invention is to reduce turbo lag in a reciprocating engine for an aircraft in which multiple-stage supercharging is performed by the turbocharger.

  • Publication number: 20190329870
Abstract: A wing structure for an aircraft includes a stationary wing, a flap extendable so as to form an air flow path between the flap and the stationary wing, and at least one plasma actuator. The plasma actuator is configured to induce, while the flap is extended, air flow for suppressing or reducing separation of air on an upper surface of the flap including air flowing from a lower surface of the stationary wing to the upper surface of the flap via the flow path.
