  • Publication number: 20010030960
Abstract: According to an electronic mail system of the present invention, if destination limiting information is included in a header of an electronic mail received from a mail client, a mail server identifies destinations designated in the header of the electronic mail into those within a transmission available area and those outside the transmission available area based on the destination limiting information, and transmits an electronic mail only to the destinations within the transmission available area. In this way, since the electronic mail is transmitted only to the destinations within the transmission available area, even if a destination is wrong, the electronic mail is prevented from reaching the wrong destination and secrecy of information in the electronic mail can be kept.

  • Patent number: 5926616
Abstract: The horizontal resolution of an input dot image is multiplied by an odd integer m, greater than unity, to produce an intermediate image. The intermediate image is smoothed by logic operations to form a final image, which is printed at a horizontal resolution equal to the horizontal resolution of the intermediate image divided by two. The horizontal resolution of the input dot image is therefore multiplied by a half-integer value (m/2) in the final image. The vertical resolution of the final image is twice the vertical resolution of the intermediate image, but may be adjusted by reducing the space between raster lines if necessary, so that the image can be printed on one page.

  • Patent number: 5892730
Abstract: A synchronous semiconductor memory device can achieve either of a pipelined mode and a prefetch mode with one chip. In accordance with CAS (column address strobe) latency 4 instructing signal MCL4 stored in a mode register, a sequence of generation of control signals from a control signal generating circuit is set to either the pipelined mode or the prefetch mode. A mode switching circuit merely switches reset timings of a write buffer in accordance with a CAS latency. Therefore, the internal data write mode can be easily switched in accordance with an operation environment, and the synchronous semiconductor memory device can implement multiple data write modes with one chip.

  • Patent number: 5869850
Abstract: A lateral insulated gate bipolar transistor has an emitter region that is displaced from a main path for passing carriers from a collector region to a base region through a first semiconductor layer. This arrangement suppresses the operation of a parasitic transistor composed of the emitter region, base region, and first semiconductor layer and prevents a latch-up. The width of the gate electrode of covering the first semiconductor layer serving as a drift region of carriers may be widened to form a carrier accumulation layer in the first semiconductor layer adjacent to the gate electrode. The accumulation layer increases the total number of carriers in the drift region, to reduce a saturation voltage between the collector region and the emitter region. As a result, the lateral insulated gate bipolar transistor operates with a low voltage to reduce power consumption.

  • Patent number: 5360649
Abstract: A thickness-reduced deep-draw-formed can obtained by using, as the substrate, a cold-rolled steel plate having a carbon content in the steel of 0.02 to 0.15% by weight, a manganese content in the steel of 0.2 to 1.0% by weight, a mean diameter of crystal grain of smaller than 6.0 .mu.m, a tensile strength over a range of from 35 to 55 kg/mm.sup.2, and a thickness of 0.17 to 0.30 mm in a step of subjecting an organic resin-coated structure of the surface-treated steel plate to the thickness-reducing deep-draw forming. This makes it possible to suppress the generation and accumulation of heat in the organic resin-coated steel plate to a level lower than the conventional levels. Therefore, the organic resin coating is prevented from being peeled off or damaged and, as a result, the corrosion resistance can be markedly improved.
