Patent number: 8056258Abstract: A cord drying apparatus dries cords for forming cord-inserted bands, such as belts and components of tires, such as carcasses. A plurality of cords C unwound from a plurality of reels 1a held in a wheeled creel 1 are passed through guide holes formed in a guide plate 21 and are extended to an insulation head 6. Vertically movable rollers 4 are moved down from their home positions above the cords C to cause the cords C to extend along curved heating surfaces of heating boards 5. The cords C are moved along the heating surfaces of the heating boards 5 to dry the cords C. The cords C can be easily extended along and pressed against the heating surfaces of the heating boards 5. Thus cords C can be changed in a short time and the efficiency of operations for drying cords C by a drying process can be improved.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2006Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventors: Nobuyuki Suda, Kiyotaka Yoshi

Patent number: 7799244Abstract: An inexpensive fluorescent object is provided which may be used, for example, as a test object for color adjustment of a fluorescent endoscope system. The fluorescent object generates fluorescence while minimizing the generation of ‘noise’ at undesired wavelengths, and is made using a plastic that substantially does not deteriorate upon exposure to U.V. and visible radiation. A method of producing the fluorescent object is disclosed, namely, a plastic powder (such as PTFE) and an inorganic fluorescent powder (such as Mn-doped ZnS) are blended so as to form a mixture of these components, and the mixture is then molded by applying pressure to the mixture. An important feature of the invention is that heat is not added during any phase in the production of the fluorescent object, thereby preventing the inorganic fluorescent powder from being denatured when producing the fluorescent object.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2007Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignees: Olympus Corporation, Olympus Medical Systems Corp.Inventors: Takeshi Suga, Tomonori Sato, Nobuyuki Suda, Yukichi Hanayama

Patent number: 7690286Abstract: A piercing device includes an outer tube rotatably supported on a first shaft and eccentrically arranged relative to a second shaft, so as to be driven for rotation. Piercing needles are arranged on the second shaft, spaced from each other in a circumferential direction, projecting radially outwards, rotatable about a second axis, and extendable and retractable relative to an outer surface via holes in the outer tube. A needle restraining member, rotatably supported on the second shaft, transmits torque to the piercing needles when driven for rotation. The first plurality of needles rotate in unison, as do the second plurality of needles and are fixedly connected to support members; thus, protecting the needles from unreasonable force and preventing undesirable enlargement of pinholes and deformation of the rubber sheet. Further, when the needles are advanced into the rubber sheet and retraced therefrom, enlargement of the rubber sheet pinholes can be prevented.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2004Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventor: Nobuyuki Suda

Patent number: 7575652Abstract: A tire structural member manufacturing method forms a tire structural member from a narrow continuous strip by small, inexpensive equipment capable of being directly combined with a tire structural member forming machine, and a tire structural member manufacturing system carries out the tire structural member manufacturing method. The tire structural member manufacturing methods consists of a small number of steps and can be carried out by an efficient, simple, inexpensive tire structural member manufacturing system. The tire structural member manufacturing method forms a tire structural member by the steps of continuously forming a continuous strip of a width including that of a joint lap, cutting the continuous strip into successive cut strips of a length substantially equal to the section width of a tire, and successively laying and joining a predetermined number of the cut strips.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2005Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventors: Nobuyuki Suda, Takashi Senbokuya, Kenji Ogawa

Patent number: 7449083Abstract: A cord-reinforced tire structural member is formed by successively arranging strips of a predetermined width w of about ? in. and bonding together edge parts of adjacent strips 3. The number of cords included in each of the strips 3 is determined for the type of the cords. A tire structural member 4 is formed by successively arranging a number of the strips 3, equal to a tire size in inch in a direction parallel to the width of the strips and bonding together edge parts of adjacent strips 3. Thus, the number of cords to be included in the tire structural member 4 for one tire can be easily fixed.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2003Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventor: Nobuyuki Suda

Patent number: 7445687Abstract: A tire component is fabricated by the steps of forming a narrow belt by arranging a plurality of cords and embedding the cords in a rubber layer, cutting the belt into strips of a predetermined length, and successively arranging and joining a necessary number of the strips such that edge parts of adjacent strips overlap each other with the outermost cord in the edge part of one of the adjacent strips overlying the outermost cord in the edge part of the other strip. The strips can be surely joined without requiring advanced techniques, without wasting materials and without increasing weight. Thus a desired annular tire component can be accurately formed in a desired circumference. The cords are arranged in each strip in a width equal to a length shorter than a length equal to an integral division of the predetermined circumference of a tire by a length corresponding to an increase in the diameter of the tire component.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2003Date of Patent: November 4, 2008Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventors: Nobuyuki Suda, Akira Kubota
