    Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting communication buffer status reports (BSRs) are disclosed. A wireless device may transmit a first buffer status report (BSR) and a second BSR in a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) to a first base station. In an example, the first BSR may be associated with first data for transmission to the wireless device from at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). Also, the second BSR may be associated with second data for transmission to the first base station from the wireless device. Further, the wireless device may receive at least a portion of the first data from the at least one WTRU. Moreover, the wireless device may transmit at least a portion of the second data to the first base station. In a further example, the transmitting the first BSR and the second BSR may be based on a priority associated with the first BSR and a priority associated with the second BSR.

A WTRU may receive resource allocation information associated with a component carrier and at least one carrier segment. The component carrier and the least one carrier segment may each comprise a plurality of resource block groups (RBG). At least two bitmaps may be associated with the resource allocation information. A size of a resource block group (RBG) of the component carrier and the at least one carrier segment may be based on a combined number of resource blocks (RB) of the component carrier and the one or more carrier segments divided by a 3GPP Rel-8/Rel-10 RBG size of the component carrier. The WTRU may determine at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU using the resource allocation information and may receive and decode the at least one RBG allocated to the WTRU.

The WTRU may transmit UL data or receive DL data based on the received UL/DL configuration indication. In another example, the DCI may include a plurality of UL/DL configuration indications. In an additional example, a plurality of WTRUs may monitor the common PDCCH search space for the first RNTI. Also, the UL/DL configuration indication may indicate UL/DL configuration information on a symbol basis. Further, the WTRU may receive a second RNTI which is associated with the UL/DL configuration indication.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to describe cell selection in low cost machine type communication (LC-MTC) devices. An LTC-MC device may measure a plurality of downlink signals from a plurality of cells. The LTC-MC may detect a channel condition, e.g., by determining a cell with better uplink coverage than a downlink cell. The detection of the channel condition may include measuring an uplink pathloss. The LTC-MC may report the channel condition as a decoupled channel condition, e.g., when an uplink cell is identified with uplink coverage better than the downlink cell. The channel condition may be reported, e.g., via a set of Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) preambles. The set of PRACH preambles may be predefined. The channel condition may be reported via a higher layer signaling.
