  • Patent number: 5947402
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for recording a desired sound or picture signal to a magnetic tape by a magnetic head. At the time of normal-speed recording and reproduction, the magnetic tape is taken up at a constant speed, but by changing the tape travelling speed of the tape on the rotary drum, DTF control and high-speed noiseless reproduction are enabled. The tension of the tape on the entrance side of the rotary drum is controlled to a desired value. This apparatus includes a tape tension actuator and a tape drawing actuator on the entrance side and on the exit side, respectively, of the rotary drum. In DTF control, both tape actuators correct a tracking error of the tape in cooperation with each other. In high-speed noiseless reproduction, both tape actuators are differentially driven so as to lower the tape travelling speed on the rotary drum. Both tape actuators are driven in feedback control using the modern control.

  • Patent number: 5734520
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus being able to use a normal-sized cassette and a small sized cassette according to a user's selection. The apparatus comprises a supply reel stand for engaging with a supply reel; a supply reel stand base for supporting the supply reel stand; a take-up reel stand for engaging with a take-up reel; a take-up reel stand base for supporting the take-up reel stand; a reel stand displacing mechanism for displacing the supply reel stand base and the take-up reel stand base according to a size of the normal-sized cassette and a size of the small sized cassette. The reel stand displacing mechanism displaces the supply reel stand base and the take-up reel stand base by using a drive force transmitted from the tape loading mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5638231
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing device comprises a tape guide mechanism for taking up the tape within the cassette when unloaded state, and withdrawing the tape from the cassette so as to wind the tape on the rotary head drum when loaded state. The mechanism comprises a first guide slot, a first moving member, and a first guide roller provided on the first moving member. The center line of the tape wound on the first guide roller lies in the reference plane. The mechanism comprises a second guide slot provided on take-up reel side and having a slanting part, a second moving member, and a second guide roller provided on the second moving member. The second guide roller rotates about a second axis having a predetermined tilt angle and a predetermined direction angle so that the center line of the tape is situated lower than the reference plane, is wound from the rotary head drum so that the center line of the tape is oriented toward the reference plane.

  • Patent number: 5099369
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, such as VTR or DAT, in which a cassette containing a magnetic tape is to be loaded and which is capable of drawing the tape from the cassette and introducing onto a head drum to perform desired recording and reproducing actions. A tape loading mechanism of the apparatus comprises at least one loading disk, a tape drawing member, and a drive system for the drawing member. For minimizing the size of the apparatus, the loading disk is disposed around one of a pair of reel spindles, and the rotation of the loading disk is transmitted to the drawing member via a link. The loading mechanism gives the same driving force also to a tape tensioning device, a reel spindle braking device and a pinch roller driving device.
