  • Patent number: 10942716
Abstract: An example method includes, during execution of a software application in a computing system comprising a plurality of processing units, identifying platform-independent instructions that are configured to perform at least one computational task, wherein the plurality of processing units comprises a heterogeneous group, and wherein the platform-independent instructions have a format that is not specific to any particular processing unit in the plurality of processing units, determining one or more scheduling criteria that are associated with the platform-independent instructions, and selecting, from the heterogeneous group of processing units and based on the scheduling criteria, a processing unit to perform the at least one computational task.

  • Publication number: 20180225976
Abstract: An example method includes receiving, by a computing device comprising one or more processors, from a plurality of sources, data associated with an aircraft that is in an operation, wherein the plurality of sources comprises one or more sources of historical data and one or more sources of real-time data that is generated while the aircraft is in the operation. The example method further includes performing, by the computing device, a risk analysis of the data using a Bayesian network model that models risks associated with the aircraft in the operation. The example method further includes generating, by the computing device, an output based at least in part on the risk analysis.

  • Patent number: 6927701
Abstract: Techniques are described for monitoring runway occupancy and providing an indication of occupancy of a runway to an airplane on final approach the runway. A system, for example, defines and monitors one or more zones on the runway to determine whether the runway is occupied. Such a system includes sensors, such as inductive loop sensors, that may be located proximate to or on the runway, and the system may monitor ingress and egress of objects, such as airplanes or other vehicles on the ground, into and out of the zone in order to determine whether the zone is activated. The sensors may be located at points of entry and exit for the zone. The zones may be located at take-off hold areas of the runway and intersections of the runway with taxiways. A ground-based approach light array of the system may provide the indication of runway occupancy to the airplane.
