  • Patent number: 5857499
Abstract: A device (10) for manipulating a wound coil (18) includes a mechanism for grabbing a wound coil (18), a first pair of opposed fingers (12), and a second pair of opposed fingers (14). The first pair of opposed fingers (12) oppositely engage a start lead (20) of the wound coil (18) and move along an arc from a first position where the start lead (20) is tangential to the inner circumference of the wound coil (18) to a second position where the start lead (20) is chordal to the inner circumference of the wound coil (18). The second pair of opposed fingers (14) oppositely engage a finish lead (22) of the wound coil (18) and move along an arc from a first position where the finish lead (22) is tangential to the outer circumference of the wound coil (18) to a second position where the finish lead (22) is chordal to the outer circumference of the wound coil (18).

  • Patent number: 4386254
Abstract: Disclosed is a rocker switch for an electrical device, in particular an electronic watch. As adapted for use with a watch, the rocker switch is preferably disposed in a recess in the watchcase and includes a manually-operable actuator bar having a pair of spaced legs projecting through access holes into the watercase to alternately engage a pair of switch contact means when the actuator bar is rocked. Each leg of the actuator bar preferably includes an offset lip engaging the watchcase from the inside to retain the actuator bar in the recess. Resilient washer means is positioned around the legs between the actuator bar and the bottom of the watchcase recess in sealed contact therewith to provide switch sealing means and return-spring means for the actuator bar.

  • Patent number: 4229783
Abstract: A backlight for an electrooptic display, such as a liquid crystal display, serves to diffuse and distribute light from a point source, such as an incandescent bulb, over a broad, flat thin area providing backlighting for the display. The backlight employs a transparent light transmitting member with a slot or recess for the light source, wrapped in a thin transluscent sheet which covers both front and back surfaces and the edges to serve as a transflector.
