  • Patent number: 4088218
Abstract: A ribbon cassette having a body portion and a nose portion which pivots with respect to the body portion to obtain bi-color printing capability. The cassette also includes hinges and a fracturable member interconnecting the body portion and the nose portion. The fracturable member retains the nose portion in fixed relationship with respect to the body portion; however, upon removing the fracturable member, the nose portion is free to pivot between first and second positions with respect to the body portion and thereby present first and second colors of inked ribbon to an associated print means.

  • Patent number: 4072379
Abstract: The apparatus includes a housing having electrical bus conductors therein and a plug-in module for providing an electrical connection between selected ones of the bus conductors and a circuit board having electrical contacts thereon. The module has an opening therein to receive the circuit board and the module is detachably secured to the housing. The module has leaf-type conductors therein forming the connection between the selected bus conductors and the electrical contacts on the circuit board inserted therein. A camming lever is included in the module to expand the leaf-type conductors to permit removal of the circuit board and side insertion of the circuit board, which camming lever also locks the circuit board to the module to prevent its removal except when the leaf-type conductors are expanded.

  • Patent number: 4060161
Abstract: In a matrix print head, a plurality of elongated printing elements, mounted in a frame, are driven axially by electromagnetic means to effect printing on record media positioned adjacent to the printing ends of the printing elements. Freely riding tubular elements are placed on the printing elements between support members forming part of the frame, in order to dampen the bending and vibration of the printing elements, and thus reduce or eliminate consequent fatigue failure.
