  • Patent number: 5279505
Abstract: Apparatus for securely attaching a casing to a person includes an elongate strap and a strap connector having a male retainer at an end thereof. The strap connector has a female retainer at an opposite end thereof. A casing defines first and second openings connected by a passageway. The female retainer is snap-fit to the casing in the passageway of the casing through the first opening. The male retainer is snap-fit to the female retainer in the passageway through the second opening.

  • Patent number: 5206897
Abstract: An incarceree identifying circuit used in an incarceree monitoring system includes an incarceree identifier worn by the incarceree at a remote location with an electrical component having a selected electrical characteristic. A comparator circuit measures the selected electrical characteristic and compares the selected electrical characteristic to a reference electrical characteristic. The comparator circuit triggers a timer if the selected electrical characteristic matches the reference electrical characteristic. The timer provides a signal to a speech circuit to disable a speaker. The tone generator is responsive to the signal and provides a verification signal via a telephone link to a central station. A verification circuit at the central location receives the verification signal and determines the presence or absence of the incarceree at the remote location.

  • Patent number: 4691697
Abstract: A prophylactic knee support(s) including a planar impact bar attached to upper and lower mounting bars. The upper and lower mounting bars are fastened to portions of the leg above and below the knee of the user by wraps encircling the appropriate leg portions. Shock absorbers and pressure plates are associated with the impact and mounting bars so as to absorb and dissipate forces resulting from blows directed on the impact bar. The absorption and dissipation diminishes the effect of the blow on the knee including the possibility of undesirable lateral shifting and/or twisting of the knee in response to said blow.

  • Patent number: 4415155
Abstract: This invention relates to a batting practice apparatus which includes an elongated axial rod which is particularly adapted to be gripped by an operator. An axle is fixed to one end of the rod. The axle is substantially parallel to the axis of the rod. A plate is mounted on the axle. The plate has a circular outer periphery. A swivel is movably mounted on the axle and has a portion engageble with the plate. A flexible line is connected to the swivel. A ball has a radial aperture contained therein, which aperture has an enlarged portion adjacent to one surface. The line has a portion positioned in the radial aperture. A metallic holding plate is mounted in the radial aperture. The holding plate has a rope aperture in its center. The line extends through the rope aperture in the holding plate and has a second portion in the enlarged aperture for securing the ball to the line. The line has a length more than two times greater than the length of the rod.

  • Patent number: 4373211
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved protective chest shield particularly adapted for use in sporting events. The protective chest shield includes an elongated pad having enlarged portions at both ends. The pad includes an inner layer of closed cell polyvinyl chloride foam and an outer layer of polypropylene. The pad has a plurality of apertures extending therethrough. Each of the apertures extending through the polypropylene is beveled having the larger end spaced away from the polyvinyl chloride foam. A fabric strap extends through a pair of proposed apertures adjacent to opposite ends of the pad but adjacent to the same edge. The fabric strap extends through a second pair of apertures adjacent to the same ends and the opposite edge. The fabric strap is adapted for tying together to provide a means for holding the protective chest shield onto a wearer.
