Abstract: The present invention provides a fixation member having a multi-layer metallic structure, which member comprises a substrate employing electroformed nickel for preventing image quality failure. The fixation member of the present invention includes a metallic substrate including a first layer formed of an electroformed seamless belt made of nickel or a nickel alloy, and a second layer formed of an electroformed seamless belt made of a metal having a thermal conductivity greater than that of the first layer; an adhesion layer disposed on the surface of the second layer; and a fluororesin layer disposed by the mediation of the adhesion layer, wherein the ratio of the thickness of the second layer to the total thickness of the metallic substrate is 0.66 to 0.95.

Abstract: A sealing device (1) having an oil seal (10) mounted to non-rotatable housing (2) and also having a slinger (20) mounted to a rotating body (5) on the inner peripheral side of the oil seal (10) so as to be located on the axially outer side of the oil seal (10), the oil seal (10) having an oil-resistant seal lip (13) slidably in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating body (5), wherein a seal ring (30) axially opposed to the slinger (20) is provided outward of the oil-resistant seal lip (13), a gap (G3) being formed between the seal ring (30) and the slinger (20) so as to decrease to the outer diameter side. The construction prevents muddy water etc. from entering from the outside (A) into a slide section (S1) of the oil-resistant seal lip (13).

Abstract: A sealing device in which a good lubricating oil film is formed along the entire circumference of a sliding surface. The sealing device (1) is fitted in an annular groove formed in either of two elements that are a housing having a shaft hole and a shaft inserted through the shaft hole, and the sealing device (1) seals an annular gap between the two elements. The sealing device (1) has a seal ring (2) sliding against the other element by relative axial movements of the two elements. In the seal ring (2), on each of axially opposite ends of a sliding surface (20) sliding against the other element, there are formed grooves (22) extending from an end surface (21) of the seal ring (2) toward the axial center of a sliding surface (20).
