  • Publication number: 20230277397
Abstract: A dual-wheel steerable motorized caster has internal motors that are operated at different speeds to swivel a pair of wheels about a caster swivel axis. The motors are operated at the same speed to propel an apparatus to which the dual-wheel steerable motorized caster is coupled along an underlying surface such as a floor in a drive direction without swiveling the pair of wheels about the caster swivel axis. A patient support apparatus has one or more of such dual-wheel steerable motorized casters.

  • Publication number: 20230165743
Abstract: A power supply system for a facility includes a patient support apparatus with a controller and a patient support. A power source is operably coupled to the patient support apparatus. The controller is in communication with the power source. A transmitting assembly is coupled to the patient support apparatus and the power source. A receiving assembly is operably coupled to the patient support. The transmitting assembly wirelessly communicates with the receiving assembly to power the patient support. A locating feature is in communication with the controller of the patient support apparatus. The locating feature is configured to aid in aligning the power source on the patient support apparatus to indicate when the receiving assembly is in communication with the transmitting assembly.

  • Patent number: 6424105
Abstract: An electric motor that may be used in a remote location, such as in a wellbore for pumping production fluids. The electric motor is designed to permit real-time adjustment of the position feedback signals to optimize motor performance. A position sensor is coupled to the rotor to sense rotor position. Simultaneously, a parameter, such as shaft twist, is measured, and a feedback control signal is provided. A processor receives the position sensor signals and the feedback control signals, and adjusts the energization of the stator windings to optimize motor performance.
