Abstract: A self-inflating cuff and methods of using the self-inflating cuff are provided. The self-inflating cuff includes first and second compartments formed within the self-inflating cuff and housing respective substances. The first and second compartments are configured to rupture in response to the force applied to an exterior surface of the self-inflating cuff, which causes the respective substances to combine to initiate a chemical reaction to produce a reactionary force on an interior surface of the self-inflating cuff that causes the self-inflating cuff to expand. The self-inflating cuff is further configured to expand such that a first opening at a first end of the self-inflating cuff and a second opening at a second end opposite the first end of the self-inflating cuff enlarge enough to receive a container through the first opening and a tubing of the container through the second opening.

Abstract: Infusion devices having multiple pumping segments connected in parallel to a fluid source and configured to operate together to pump a fluid from the fluid source are described herein. An infusion device includes a first deformable body coupled between the fluid source and an IV set and a second deformable body coupled between the fluid source and the IV set in parallel with the first deformable body. The first deformable body is configured to be hand-compressed and direct a portion of fluid from the first deformable body to an outlet of the IV set for administering the fluid to a patient at a first flow rate. The second deformable body is configured to be hand-compressed and direct another portion of fluid from the second deformable body to the outlet of the IV set for administering the fluid to the patient at a second flow rate.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems that include a syringe having a barrel configured to hold a fluid and a plunger configured to draw the fluid into the barrel when the plunger is pulled backward through the barrel. The syringe is configured to inhibit forward movement of the plunger. For example, the systems can include mating pockets configured to engage barbs to inhibit forward movement of the plunger.
