  • Patent number: 9964030
Abstract: A system including a combustion engine is disclosed. The combustion engine includes a first cylinder orientated along a first axis. The combustion engine also includes a first piston, fitted within the first cylinder, to move in reciprocating motion by alternately moving in a first linear direction along the first axis responsive to a first power stroke or a second linear direction along the first axis responsive to a second power stroke. The combustion engine includes a tensile band affixed to a first end and a second end of the first piston. The first piston is to exert a first tensile force on the tensile band in the first linear direction in response to the first power stroke. The first piston is to exert a second tensile force on the tensile band in the second linear direction in response to the second power stroke.

  • Publication number: 20120228088
Abstract: A conveying surface operating in a fashion of a conveying belt. The surface is formed to provide movement of material on the surface between two rollers. The conveying surface is formed by a continuous wire stretching in individual substantially parallel strands, between spiraled communications around the first roller and second roller. Spacing of the individual parallel strands of wire yields uninterrupted gaps for airflow therethrough and tensioning of the wire between the rollers eliminates sagging. The surface may be cleaned while moving by cleaning a return section of the wire strand between the rollers.

  • Patent number: 5636556
Abstract: A handheld tool used for conditioning and sharpening the blade of a scraping tool or like tool. The present invention tool includes a tool body that supports a file, a sharpening stone, a conditioning pin and a burnishing element. A plurality of slots are disposed within the tool, wherein each of the slots intersect the burnishing element at a different angle between 90.degree. and 75.degree.. The tool provides guiding surfaces that enable a blade to be properly worked against the file, the sharpening stone, and the conditioning pin. The step of burnishing the blade is accomplished by passing the blade through one of the slots formed in the tool. As a result, the labor and time needed to sharpen a blade is greatly reduced and the quality of the blade point is made more consistent.

  • Patent number: 5073081
Abstract: The present invention comprises devices for receiving a plurality of elongated workpieces, devices for automatically raising the workpieces, devices for forming a single layer of a predetermined number of workpieces, devices for controlling the height and width of a stack, devices for assembling layers of workpieces into a stack of predetermined height and width, and devices for supporting and positioning the stack during formation. The self-contained machine of this invention is designed for producing a stack of elongate, stackable workpieces. The machine comprises devices for receiving the elongate, stackable workpieces and for conveying the workpieces in a generally vertical upward direction to an elevated point above the surface on which the stacking machine is supported. Vertical conveyance of the work pieces requires the use of a minimum lateral space for conducting that operation as opposed to armtype hoisting stackers in which the arm is extended and takes up a significant amount of lateral space.

  • Patent number: 4365530
Abstract: Orbit saw apparatus including a driven shaft rotatably supported in an upright mounting wall which is part of the frame in the apparatus. Orbit arm structure is rotatably supported on one end of said driven shaft, and an arbor shaft parallel to the driven shaft and mounting a circular saw blade is journalled on the orbit arm structure. A motor has its output shaft connected through belts to the driven shaft, and the driven shaft is connected for drive purposes to the arbor shaft. The motor also runs a pump, which is part of a pressure fluid supply system for an adjustable hydraulic motor which produces rotation of the orbit arm structure.
