  • Publication number: 20100158679
Abstract: A pair of one piece cast impellers having radially extending curved and twisted three dimensional blades and being in a compressor housing which is connected to a drive motor and the impellers being mounted onto a motor drive shaft by jamming or press fitting the impellers on the shaft to provide a two stage radial compressor wherein the drive motor (5), a drive shaft (14) on which there a arranged two impellers (10, 12) there is envisaged that the drive motor (5) is a fast-running asynchronous motor with a speed in excess of 10,000 rpm and a power of around 5 to 10 kW.

  • Patent number: 5658126
Abstract: A side channel compressor with an impeller with delivery blades that has a seal to prevent leakage between the impeller and the impeller housing. A hub supporting the impeller connects it to a drive shaft. A housing surrounds the impeller, which rotates therein. A sealing device is provided between impeller and housing. The impeller is provided with a bearing ring that overhangs the hub. The overhanging portion of the bearing ring contacts a sealing ring held against a contact surface of the housing by a retaining ring. The retaining ring can be fastened to the housing by screws. The bearing ring can be provided with a corner recess to more securely engage the sealing ring.

  • Patent number: 5527148
Abstract: A regenerative compressor has a housing in which an impeller (6) rotates. The impeller has a supporting ring (7) fitted with blades (8) and is connected by a wall section (9) to a hub element (10) which can be placed on a drive shaft (5). The wall section (9) forms one lateral boundary wall of the impeller (6) and its axial thickness is less than the axial width of the impeller (6). The other boundary wall of the impeller is formed by an annular cover part (14) secured to the impeller. The cover part extends along at least a partial region between the supporting ring (7) and the hub element (10) and its rim is applied to a corner recess (17) of the supporting ring (7). The compressor also has rectilinear sealing gaps (13 and 23) which extend linearly along their whole length between the boundary walls of the impeller (6) and the walls (12 and 22) of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5350274
Abstract: A side channel machine has at least one impeller, which is rotatably mounted in the housing of the machine. The impeller includes a disk-shaped hub part and of a blade ring mounted on its periphery. The impeller can be mounted on the shaft of a drive motor by means of a hub bore provided on the hub part. In the case of this side channel machine, a side channel is formed at least on one side of the blade ring in the housing and extends circumferentially between one intake and one outlet port of the housing. Furthermore, sealing gaps are provided at least in the area of the hub part which is radially, inwardly contiguous to the blade ring between this hub part and the housing. A cleaning of the machine is rendered possible in that a supply line is provided in the area between the hub bore and the blade ring on the housing of the side channel machine. Through this supply line, a flushing fluid that will flow through the sealing gaps can be introduced into the housing.

  • Patent number: 4992022
Abstract: A side-channel compressor includes a rotor rotatably supported in the housing of the compressor. The rotor includes a blade ring arranged at the outer circumference of a disk-shaped hub. A clearance space is provided between the housing and the rotor in the region where the rotor hub merges into the blade ring. To prevent the rotor from becoming blocked by dust, lint or fiber-like particles which may settle in the clearance space, at least one recess is formed in the rotor in the region where the hub merges into the blade ring. The recess extends over the entire effective length of the clearance space in the region where the hub merges into the blade ring and effectively expands the boundaries thereof.
