Patent number: 4895413Abstract: A cutting arrangement which includes a cutting roller whereby a spray liquid supply is controlled by a forces acting on the cutting roller. The cutting roller includes a nozzle holder which functions to inhibit or block the flow of the spray liquid and, when the roller cutter or cutting blade is in operation, a deflecting spring element causes the nozzle holder to tilt thereby releasing a spray liquid to the spraying nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1987Date of Patent: January 23, 1990Assignee: Dipl.-Ing. Rudi BeyerInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4498707Abstract: In a cutting roller, preferably for a winning machine and provided with a plurality of picks on its blade and with a number of fluid-spraying nozzles for cooling the picks, each nozzle is screwed into a nozzle-receiving member into which a shutoff valve is inserted which opens the bore in the nozzle-receiving member for connecting the passage for supplying fluid with the nozzle when the latter is inserted into that bore or automatically blocks that bore when the nozzle is removed from that bore.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1983Date of Patent: February 12, 1985Assignee: Krampe & Co. Fertigung in Bergbaubedarf GmbH ZweigniederlassungInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4491370Abstract: A cutting roller for a winning machine, which includes a tubular support and a number of helical blades on the tubular support provided with cutting picks arranged on the periphery of each blade, is provided with a hydraulic fluid spraying system which comprises a circumferential fluid distribution passage formed in the blade, connecting passages leading to the spraying nozzles and a radial bridging passage connecting the fluid distribution passage with the connecting passages. The fluid distribution passage and the bridging passage are grooves which accommodate plastic fluid-conducting tubes. The grooves are covered with covers of non-corrossive material which are releasably connected to the walls of the blade.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1983Date of Patent: January 1, 1985Assignee: Krampe & Co Fertigung in Bergbaubedarf GmbH ZweigniederlassungInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Patent number: 4451092Abstract: A cutting roller for a mining machine, having a substantially conical closure member arranged to face the workings and a tubular body member which has a larger diameter at the end nearer the working face than at the discharge end. The tubular member carries at least one cutting blade, and the closure member mounts at least one cutting blade; each blade is provided at its edge region with a plurality of bit holders for the attachment of cutter bits. The outer surface of the body member merges into the substantially conical closure member in a smooth, even curve, so that the outside diameter of the body member in the region of the working face is substantially greater than the diameter in the region of the discharge end of the cutting roller. The roller is provided with liquid distribution channels on each cutting blade, which channels are connected to a single liquid distribution ring channel in the region of the substantially conical closure member.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1982Date of Patent: May 29, 1984Assignee: Krampe & Co Fertigung in Bergbaubedarf GmbHInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4436346Abstract: A cutting roller for a mining machine including a closure ring arranged to face the workings and a tubular body member carrying a plurality of helical blade coils provided with bit holders furnished with cutting bits. The cutting roller has a number of charging coils arranged on the outer surface of the body member and extending midway of the blade coils and in parallel thereto. All the charging coils extend about the outer surface of the body member with an equal angle of inclination.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1982Date of Patent: March 13, 1984Assignee: Krampe & Co. Fertigung in Bergbaubedarf GmbHInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4411475Abstract: A cutting drum for an extracting machine is assembled of a base body having a frustoconical configuration and of an end ring which is detachably mounted to the major end face of the base body. The jacket surfaces of the end ring and of the base body have the same slope so that no jump will result in the separation plane. The connecting means are in the form of radial flanges connected by bolts and provided with centering elements.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1980Date of Patent: October 25, 1983Assignee: Krampe & Co. Fertifung in Bergbaubedarf GmbHInventors: Gerd Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4249779Abstract: A cutting tool, particularly for a mining machine includes an elongated support having a first end and an axially spaced second end. The support also includes an outer circumferential surface having at the first end a first outer dimension and at the second end a second outer dimension which is smaller than the first dimension. The outer surface includes a portion adjacent to one of the ends and having a non-linear configuration with an exterior dimension which gradually decreases in direction from the above-mentioned one end towards the other of the first and second ends. A plurality of cutting units are located on the outer circumferential surface of the support along a line circumferentially embracing the support.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1979Date of Patent: February 10, 1981Assignee: Krampe & Co. Fertigung in Bergbaubedarf GmbHInventors: Gerd F. Best, Norbert B. Weikert

Patent number: 4219239Abstract: A mining auger has a hollow auger shaft terminating in a front end, an auger helix welded to the outer face of the shaft and having a peripheral edge zone radially spaced from the shaft surface and extending helically thereabout; a plurality of spaced tool holders arranged in the peripheral edge zone of the helix for receiving cutting tool bits; separate spray nozzles arranged in the peripheral edge zone and associated with each cutting tool bit; a liquid supply channel provided in the shaft; a distributor channel communicating with the supply channel and following the helical course of the helix; and connecting channels leading to individual spray nozzles and communicating with the distributor channel. The distributor channel is situated at a substantial radial distance from the outer face of the auger shaft in the direction of the nozzles.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1978Date of Patent: August 26, 1980Assignee: Krampe & Co.Inventors: Norbert B.
