Publication number: 20150298911Abstract: A conveyor apparatus has a pivot frame pivotally mounted to a lower portion thereof and an actuator that pivot the pivot frame from a rear frame transport position to a forward frame operating position. A feed conveyor has a rear discharge end movably attached to an upper frame portion of the pivot frame such that the rear discharge end of the feed conveyor is above the main conveyor. The feed discharge is above the main intake and the feed conveyor extends away from the main intake and the front intake end of the feed conveyor is movable laterally when the pivot frame and feed conveyor are in the operating position, and the feed conveyor is above the main conveyor when the pivot frame and feed conveyor are in the transport position. A hopper on the feed conveyor intake has flexible panels that fold down when in the transport position.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2015Publication date: October 22, 2015Inventors: Norbert BEAUJOT, Matthew PETRUICK, Greg VENNARD, Daniel MICHALUK

Publication number: 20150271989Abstract: A delay period timing system for a seeding implement with a feed control. A distribution network conveys products to the furrow openers, and a feeding mechanism controls flow of products into the distribution network. A flow sensor downstream from the feeding mechanism detects when products are flowing at a sensing location, and a timer measures a delay period between the time the feeding mechanism starts or stops flow and when the flow sensor starts or stops detecting flow. The delay period is adjusted to account for the location of the flow sensor. A method of determining the delay period includes determining the length of the distribution network and determining the speed of flow of the products. The system can be used on seeding implement with or without sectional control.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2015Publication date: October 1, 2015Inventors: Owen KINCH, Norbert BEAUJOT, Timothy OTTENBREIT

Publication number: 20150098767Abstract: A manifold apparatus for an air seeder has output ports spaced around a lower portion of the sidewall A vertically oriented input conduit extends upward through an input port defined in the bottom of the manifold into an upper portion of the manifold interior. A plurality of substantially vertical channels each extend downward from an inner top wall surface to one of the outlet ports and has an entrance opening at a top end thereof. The upper portion of the manifold interior is configured such that an air stream carrying entrained agricultural products passing out an open top end of the input conduit contacts the top wall and is directed outward into the entrance openings, and such that a substantially equal portion of the air stream and agricultural products flows into each entrance opening. Blunt edged pulsating rings can distribute agricultural products evenly across the input conduit.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2012Publication date: April 9, 2015Inventors: Norbert Beaujot, Greg Vennard

Patent number: 8752490Abstract: A seed feeding apparatus includes a feed assembly with a V-shaped groove with at least one moving wall and a pocket formed by the walls of the groove and a pocket plate configured to substantially conform to the groove. The pocket plate is located such that the moving wall moves upward at the pocket. Seeds are received and form a pile in the pocket. As the moving wall moves, seeds fall from the pile to the bottom of the groove with sides of the seeds bearing against the walls of the groove such that the seeds are aligned in single file along the bottom of the groove and move upward over the upper edge of the groove and then fall out of the groove one at a time at a constant rate into a furrow.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2010Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: Straw Track Manufacturing Inc.Inventor: Norbert Beaujot
