Abstract: The cosmetic brush, which is in particular a mascara brush, includes a bristle portion with a base body and a plurality of bristles that stick out from the base body in a radial direction and serve for the application of a cosmetic product. The bristles have a high bristle density of at least 6 bristles per square millimeter and consist of a plastic material that has a Shore hardness D of more than 40.

The main body is made of a comparatively hard synthetic material. A tubular bristle body having bristle-like, radially outwardly projecting extensions made of a relatively soft synthetic material, is also included. In order to attain an advantageous producibility and sturdy handling properties, the bristle body is axially fixed relative to the main body.

Abstract: In an effect packaging for a cosmetic, in particular a mascara unit, comprising a reservoir for the cosmetic and a lucent covering surrounding the reservoir, wherein the reservoir and covering are at least partially spaced from one another, it is provided that a centering device cooperating with the bottom of the reservoir is provided at the bottom of the outer covering, and that the reservoir and the outer covering are engageable with one another by the cooperation of a locking groove and a locking bead by an axial relative movement, for achieving an attractive appearance accompanied with a cost-effective producibility.

Both partial units (2, 3) are connected in a releasable way by means of a coupling sleeve (4). On both axial front sides thereof, one of the two closure caps (7, 8) can be inserted. The coupling sleeve (4) is made of metal. At least the closure caps (7, 8) are made of plastic. The coupling sleeve (4) comprises a safety element at an inner wall per insertable closure cap (7, 8) extruding to the inside, designed as a ring element running in the circumferential direction by means of longitudinal elements that are parallel to the central longitudinal axis. A releasable connection of the coupling sleeve (4) to the associated closure cap (7, 8) comprises a torsional strength due to the longitudinal elements and an axial strength due to the ring element.
