  • Publication number: 20200093649
Abstract: A method of making an absorbent article having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis is provided. The method involves delivering a supply of absorbent web in a machine direction and cutting the absorbent web material in a cross-direction to form a repeating nested pattern of generally identically shaped and oppositely oriented absorbent cores that are asymmetrical about the transverse axis. The cut absorbent cores are then positioned between a continuous web of topsheet and backsheet material, wherein the absorbent cores remain in the cross-direction and are spaced apart in the machine direction. Absorbent articles are then stamped out in the cross-direction, wherein adjacent absorbent articles have alternately oriented absorbent cores.
