  • Patent number: 9317822
Abstract: A method for generating workflows for product development or for the design or the operation of industrial systems, wherein the workflow comprises activities, inputs, outputs, attributes, and time dependencies for the activities, wherein the method comprises providing software objects representing parts, functions and/or artifacts of the product or the industrial systems, assembling the software objects by interconnecting them via the interfaces to design a product or an industrial system, generating the workflow for product development or for the design or operation of an industrial system based on the workflow information.

  • Patent number: 8639728
Abstract: A method for computer assisted planning of a technical system with a first structure of multi-category objects is provided. Each multi-category object describes a technical component and includes a plurality of facets. Each facet is of a specific category and refers to information about the technical component. Categories of a multi-category object refer to different disciplines for designing a technical system. The disciplines include mechanical, electrical and automation engineering. Further, a second structure of a specific category is provided and has category-specific elements. Each category-specific element describes a technical component with respect to the corresponding specific category. Each facet of a specific category of a multi-category object describing a technical component in the first structure is related to a category-specific element of the specific category describing the technical component in the second structure.

  • Publication number: 20130268121
Abstract: An apparatus for development and operation of a mechatronic installation that exhibits mechatronic units, with a data memory storing interdisciplinary mechatronic object data relating to mechatronic units, a communications interface for connecting the apparatus to at least one data network, and a control facility embodied to (a) identify at least one additional service relating to at least one of the mechatronic units of the mechatronic installation by an identification of the mechatronic unit stored in the interdisciplinary mechatronic object data, and, (b) in a development and/or maintenance step and/or during the control of the mechatronic installation, to load program code corresponding to a respective service into the data memory and carry it out locally and/or to call up at least one of the identified services by way of a protocol for the inter-process communication, e.g. RPC, and/or by way of an application interface, e.g., a REST and/or SOAP application interface.

  • Publication number: 20120206261
Abstract: A machine classifier classifies signals of an industrial plant and determines a current state as a result. On the basis of the current state, an audio profile is selected from a number of audio profiles and issued in the form of a synthetically generated acoustic signal to a plant operator. For that purpose, the state of the industrial plant is continuously evaluated and, for example, with the aid of a MIDI sequencer, is used to manipulate different tracks of a piece of music or of synthetically generated artificial background noise. In this way, the plant operator is able to discern intuitively, and optionally even subliminally, divergences from a normal operation of the industrial plant, which can only be communicated to the operator via the overloaded visual channel with great difficulty, or not at all. The plant operator can therefore learn of the state of the industrial plant via the auditory sense or learn that in certain situations the industrial plant does not sound right.

  • Publication number: 20110153056
Abstract: A method for designing products or industrial systems, wherein comprising the steps of providing software objects representing parts, functions and/or artifacts of the product or the industrial systems are provided, where a software object comprises data for characterizing the software object and interfaces for intercommunication of the software objects and for communication with the environment of the product or the industrial system. The software objects are then assembled by interconnecting the software over the interfaces to design a product or an industrial system.
