Abstract: Benzene derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## where Hal is halogen, R.sup.1 is a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and X is hydrogen or halogen, are prepared by a process in which a toluene derivative of the general formula ##STR2## is electrochemically oxidized in the presence of an acid of the formula R.sup.2 --COOH (III). Novel benzene derivatives of the general formula ##STR3## where R.sup.3 is hydrogen or an R.sup.2 --CO-- radical but R.sup.1 cannot be methyl if X is hydrogen, and of the general formula ##STR4## where R.sup.4 is a branched or cyclic alkyl radical of 3 to 12 carbon atoms, but R.sup.4 cannot be isopropyl if X is hydrogen. The compounds of formulas IV and VI are intermediates for crop protecting agents, e.g. pyrethroids.

Abstract: 1-Azabutadienes of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl or pyridyl, and these radicals may be substituted, or are each alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted, R.sup.3 is substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or a radical OR.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is hydrogen, alkyl or an aromatic or aliphatic acyl group, or R.sup.3 is a radical NHR.sup.5, where R.sup.5 is hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, or the carbamide group, and fungicidal agents containing these compounds.

Abstract: Vinyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical to or different from one another, each being hydrogen, straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl of up to 12 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylene of from 5 to 8 carbon atoms, aryl, alkylaryl, alkenylaryl, aralkyl and aralkenyl of from 6 to 16 carbon atoms, halogen-substituted aryl or heterocyclyl, and in addition the radicals R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 or R.sup.1 and R.sup.3, together with the carbon atom to which they are bonded, can form a cycloalkane, cycloalkene or a heterocycle, and R.sup.4 is alkyl, alkylaryl or aralkyl, are prepared by eliminating an alcohol from an acetal/ketal of the formula ##STR2## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.

Abstract: O-substituted hydroxylamines (I)H.sub.2 N--O--CH.sub.2 --R(I)where R is H or an organic radical, and their salts are prepared by reacting a cyclic imidoether II of a 1,4- or 1,5-dicarboxylic acid, the said imidoether containing an ether group --O--CH.sub.2 --R, with a basic compound by a method in which a primary aliphatic aminoalcohol III is used as the basic compound and the compound I is, if required, converted to its salts.

Abstract: Salicylaldehyde derivatives and salicyclic acid derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## where A is an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl radical, an unsubstituted or substituted 5-membered heteroaromatic radical having from 2 to 4 nitrogen atoms or two nitrogen atoms and additionally one sulfur or oxygen atom or an unsubstituted or substituted thienyl, pyridyl, naphthyl, quinolyl, indazolyl or benzotriazolyl radical, X is oxygen or sulfur, and the radicals R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 have the means given in the specification, processes and intermediates for their production, and their use as herbicides and bioregulators.

Abstract: Pyridines of the formula ##STR1## where the individual radicals R.sup.1 may be identical or different and are each hydrogen or an aliphatic radical are prepared by reactinga) a 2-alkoxy-2,3-dihydro-4H-pyran of the formula ##STR2## or b) a glutaraldehyde of the formula ##STR3## where R.sup.1 has the abovementioned meansings and R.sup.2 is an aliphatic radical, with ammonia in the presence of an acidic, solid catalyst.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of benzaldehyde dialkyl acetals of the general formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are hydrogen or halogen, straight-chain, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon radicals or alkoxy, acyloxy, aryloxy or aralkoxy, and n is 1 or 2, in which benzyl derivatives of the general formula ##STR2## where R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and n have the abovementioned meanings, R.sup.5 is hydrogen or R.sup.6 --CO--, and R.sup.6 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, are anodically oxidized in the presence of an alcohol of the formula R.sup.1 --OH where R.sup.1 has the abovementioned meaning.

Abstract: Substituted pyridines of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, are prepared by reacting a mixture of acrolein and alkanals of the formula ##STR2## with ammonia in the presence of zeolites as catalysts.
